Notes & other description fields support rich text
Actually, rich text is a proprietary format. What we really want is just to have the description fields support things like bold, italic, headers, bullets, tables, and embedded images. Some other alternatives like Markdown format / HTML would be fine if accessible buttons are available or there's a WYSIWYG mode.

What about keeping keepnote as a separate app, but having TaskCoach keep it in sync?
So there would be a action for "create associated keepnote" that creates a keepnote associated with the current task. The task could be created with similar location and categories.
As the user changes tasks in TaskCoach it changes to the associated note, if any, in keepnote.
TaskCoach could do this by building on KeepNote's existing command line stuff, but it would be better if it took some sort of RPC call of course...

Please lets have some control on text - I fully support this idea

I learned recently that "rich text" is actually a proprietary Microsoft format! That's why it isn't as widely automatically supported as one might assume!
Obviously the goal is *not* to support M$'s "rich text" that but is to simply support having text formatting in the same manner as described in my previous comment.

I thought about using code from Keepnote (http://keepnote.org/), also written in Python, is cross-platform, and is also GPL and has all the features good note-taking should have… but I learned that Keepnote uses pyGTK while Task Coach uses wxPython. Still, maybe some parts of Keepnote are worth at least copying.
Rich-text is the top priority, but these other features from KeepNote would be great to be in Task Coach too:
• hyperlinks from note to note
• embedded attachment links in the note context
• embedded images
• full text search within notesI think that embedded attachment links should be easy to add once rich text is added, and probably whatever rich-text system is used, there's a good chance it will already include the option of embedded images. We have separate requests here for the other two of these features, and I encourage everyone to vote for them:
