Bring back old time picker
I don't like the new time picker because I am no longer able to select the text of the time to copy and paste. I have the need to create new efforts and to make them fit between two other efforts I would copy the end time of one and copy it to the start time of the new effort. Then I would copy the start time of the following effort and paste that to the end time of my new effort. I am no longer able to do this. I tried to use an older version but I got an error saying that my .tsk file was created by a newer version
How about a much more reasonable request? This should have been: “Bring back copy and paste of time and date”
We get the message that copy/paste is important, so we’ll work on making sure it is possible with the new time picker. I’ve made a note of this.
The old time picker had many bugs and quirks that made it hard to work with and impractical to fix. The new picker is just in its first incarnation and will be improved.
Anyway, if you want to use previous versions of TC for now until we implement the improvements to the new picker, you can edit your .tsk file in a text-editor (but make backups please), and change the version number so it will open in old versions of the program.
Cheers,
Aaron

Ok, *now* it is fixed for Windows (and Linux). The new latest bugfix release works, I just tested it. copy/paste is functional again.

Yeah, I had a hard time understanding this new feature too. I never got it to work. Jerome? What's the deal? Is this actually fixed as you say? How does it work??

I added a screencast to help you see what I'm trying to do. It doesn't record my keystrokes however. http://screenr.com/hum7

I tried version 1.3.22.5916 (PortableApps version) and I'm not sure how copy and paste is supposed to work. I tried ctrl-a to select all and that didn't work. I can't click-n-drag to highlight more than one time field (hour, min, sec, meridiem). I tried ctrl-c with each time field and on the drop down, but neither the selected field value nor the whole date or time were copied. If I have the icon highlighted and I hit ctrl-c, a ding sound is made (and nothing else). I'm on Windows 7 64-bit. What am I missing?

A fix was made and checked into the source code repository of Task Coach. The fix will be part of the next release.
If you like, you can download a recent build from http://www.fraca7.net/TaskCoach-packages/latest_bugfixes.py to test the fix.
This will allow copy and paste to function with the new date/time picker.
