@Frank Niessink: thank you for layout "Timeline".
It is 2 ways to dysplay a whole task (with its start and end):
1. Timeline;
2. Calendar (it named also "Scheduler" in some products).
IMHO timeline is more comfortable. And it is useful, in this I agree with Bill.
But. Layout "Timeline" is not comfortable in TaskCoach Release 0.76.0.
Can I here write about other product? If Yes and this post will not delete, than try to see iChronos. Its timeline is comfortable. And take attention on context menu commands: "Find on ...", "Find in ...". This makes a navigation more easily.
And more. IMHO, it is necessary to add a layout "Today tasks". Not filter {TaskCoach \ View \ Filter \ Show only ... \ Tuday}, but layout. It may be useful for quickly work whith information in *.tsk file.
