Release 1.2.19 allows you to change the foreground color, background color, icon and font of tasks for each of the states: active, inactive, completed, over due and due soon.

I think a possible solution would be saved each time you make a change unless there has been a saving in less than X minutes. If a save have been pass in X minutes, you save after X time for not to over save.
