Toggle tracking on standby OR Cli to start/stop tracking
Could you add a feature such that when the computer is put into standby it stops tracking the current task and upon resume begins tracking the current task.
If this is troublesome then would it be possible to create cli switches with the app such that i could call taskcoach.exe -tracking start and taskcoach.exe -tracking stop. With this I can set my own conditions for tracking etc using windows task scheduler.
Thanks

add period of time for efforts
When I create a new effort, after setting the Start time I'd like not to set the end time I'd prefer to set a period of time from the start event.
e.g. add 1:45 to the start time.3 votesThis is now complete! It will be released in the new v. 1.3.21
Cheers!

Sync with Dropbox
Windows mobile, iphone-pad, Android, ... there are too many mOSs to sync to. I take a simpler approach. I output text and html files to Dropbox and pick them up from my various mobile devices. Lowest common denominator. Making this work with fewer steps, and allowing import to TC from Dropbox would be really cool. I can be more detailed if there is enough interest.
4 votesRelease 1.2.26 of Task Coach supports importing and exporting of Todo.txt files.

Filter by start date as well as by due date
I like to sit down in the morning and go through my list for the day, but things that have start times later in the day don't show up if I filter only "active" items, whereas if I don't, then I get bunches of things that I don't even plan to start for days. I'd like to be able to show, essentially, anything that will be active today, but it could also be useful to show things that will be active before tomorrow, this workweek, etc. (the same options in the filter by due date list, essentially).
2 votesThis is already possible with the menu option: View→Filter→Inactive tasks→Only show tasks starting today.

include task name in reminder window title
If there are many reminder windows open, they all look the same when cycling through with Alt-Tab (they say "Task Coach Reminder"). Including the task name in the title bar would help the user choose the right one.
1 voteAvailable in release 1.2.28.

Don't reset attachment path
When adding an attachment to a task, every subsequent adding of an attachment defaults back to the installation path of taskcoach. This can be a bit annoying if you want to attach multiple files to a task. Ideally it should remember the last attachment path per task.

Control over fonts when editing a task
There has already been a suggestion about font sizes and a note to say that this was dealt with in release 0.78, but I don't think that change really addressed the issue, at least not the one that I have.
As far as I can see, Task Coach only allows you to change the font that's used in the Task view. I would like to be able to change the font that's used when I edit a task. I particularly want the "Description" text to be larger because I use this to store notes about the task, although I don't…
3 votesThanks to a patch supplied by Nicola Chiapolini, there is now a system preference for font details for the description text in v. 1.3.18

provide planned and actual start date
Add in an extra start date column so that I can specify the planned start date, and the actual start date. For evidence of project progress (e.g. how much it overrun by!)
1 voteYou can have separate columns for planned start, actual start, time left, budget, etc.

Different fonts for tasks and subtasks
I'd find it useful and more clearly arranged, if it were possible to give tasks and subtasks a different font. Actually all activated tasks have the same font.
1 voteThis is already possible. Use the appearance tab in the task edit dialog.

Expand / Collapse all
I would love the ability to expand / collapse all tasks in the task tree. My list is getting pretty unwieldy and I need and quick and easy way to remove and add back all the detail with a single click.

enable icons to be the same for parent/child tasks - I thought this was a bug, seems it's a feature.
E.g. Books/Book icon - my parent task has the Books one, and the child tasks have the Book one, despite me entering the Books icon in Features. I'd like my parent/child task to have the same icon, but I can't change it. I thought this was a bug, and logged on to report it, but I see someone else reported something similar and the response was that this was a feature, not a bug. This is fantastic software, by the way - well done!

Default Start/Due/Reminder times
Can you have a setting for the default time on (start/Due/Reminder) It defaults to 23:59. If you forget to set it the event is missed instead of perhaps too early.
5 votesDefault start, due, completion and reminder date and times can be set in the preferences, as of release 1.2.25.

increase the number of hours until a task becomes inactive - 90 is a little l
As above - if this were increased then more tasks would show as up and coming rather than inactive.
1 voteIn release 1.2.26 the maximum is 9999. Sufficient? :-)

add the state 'Active' for a task
I'd like to filter the subset of tasks I'm working on;
as easily as i can filter out Completed tasks.Today, a task has Two states: Not 'completed' / 'Completed'
You could add the new state 'Active'
thus a task would have 3 states:
'Completed' , 'Active' Default: 'inactive'3 votesThis is already the case: tasks with a start date in the past and a fue date in the future are active.
