Desktop widget for gnome
It would be great to have a desktop widget for example für screenlets (is also written in python).
So a short look on the desktop shows me my agenda.
Maybe there is an pendant to screenlets for windows.

Total Time by Category
Can you add a column that adds all task times for the selected category? Example: I have a parent category with 10 tasks. I would like to see a grand total of time, not just total time per task. Thanks!

Make Task Progress a selectable feature to turn off
... like "tracking effort" and "taking notes" (under Features in Preferences). I really want a minimal interface.
Other features too, like prerequisites maybe. Just gives users the ability to simplify more.

Twitter (and other) integration
When switching to another (sub)task, TC could tweet about that (sub)task or its closest predecessor that is configured to tweet. Likewise, other (social) network integration may be neat.

Global font size change
It would be great to be able to change font size for all tasks at once (e.g. by selecting all tasks). Currently I have to select each task and change its font size one by one.

Adding an "edit" viewer
I suggest adding the option for a new "Edit" viewer. This would be an optional viewer that can placed to be always viewed, similar to other viewers.
This "Edit" viewer would simply be an edit view of whatever object currently has focus (if the object has an edit option).
For example, if a category has focus then the edit options of that category are displayed and edits can be done and saved automatically. If focus is then switched to a task, then the "Edit" viewer will display the editing options for that task. This allows for increased editing efficiency and…

Task is marked when subtasks are due
The main advantage of Taskcoach over other software is the possibility to arrange tasks schematically. However, if subtasks are due, this is not indicated at the parent tasks. I have to open all tasks to see if subtasks are due. Suggestion: a parent task inherits the child which is due first.
27 votesThe current release has this partly implemented.
The way it works, when parents are collapsed, it will show due dates from subtasks in parentheses in appropriate columns (other dates too).
But we haven’t figured out the best options for whether to change the icon color or text color of parents based on subtasks. Should just the icon change? Just the text? Only date-related text? When collapsed only or all the time?
Please share any suggestions below in comments. What do you all think is the best way this should work?

Taskcoach could use the notion of Milestones
Just an entry which shows "original", "current", and completed dates. This is really a special class of a task which has no duration.
The timeline view should also have support for viewing these milestones

Timeline needs time reference
The time line does not show where the tasks are landing WRT the calendar. You could use a week, month, or yearly view to gain a reference for the gantt

Display task description when hovering over notification
When a task notification pops up, it would be nice if the description popped up once I hover the mouse over the task description button.
Today I actually have to click the button which takes me into task edit mode which is not usually what I want to do. I just want to see the description of my task.

Ability to move selected tasks to a different .tsk file
It would be nice if I could right-click a task and/or have a command in the file menu of "Move to..." and could then select a different .tsk file that the selection gets moved into.
This would make it a cinch to move tasks to an archive or just move them for other purposes. Perhaps a "Copy to..." could be considered as well (like the difference between copy-paste versus cut-paste).

Different columns layout dependent on Category
Task Coach will remember the columns layout for each Category separatelly. As I have different tasks in the list in the terms of what, where and how the things have to be done, different details are important.

Sending email with selected task details including attachments, etc.
Now email is generated only by the taskname as subject and details as email body.
-> I'd like to have an option to attach any of linked attachements to this task, including the option of pasting other details such efford, etc.28 votes -
Add a clickable links column to tasks
It would be great if there was a way of adding a link to a document (as opposed to an attachment) in a task that was clickable. In my case the links would be to our document management system (dme://docdm-xxxx) or a web page
