  1. View Tasks as weekplan.

    Hello,
can you view tasks as a week plan?
It would be great to view projects or tasks into a daily working period.
e.g. Monday: 8:00 to 18:00 and then drag drop tasks inte a weekly calendar format. Below a time summery would be great. e.g. i worked on Monday 4 hours on task1 and 4 hours on task2, an i want to visualize this.

    what you say?

  3. Add capability to send a mail from within TaskCoach (I want to delegate a task)

Having the possibility to send a mail from TaskCoach would be great. The mail subject should correspond to the task subject. This feature would come in handy to delegate tasks or ask for the status of work done.

  4. increase the number of hours until a task becomes inactive - 90 is a little l

As above - if this were increased then more tasks would show as up and coming rather than inactive.

  5. Inline editing of tasks

For users who works fast and don't use all the tabs of a task it would be nice to edit the task title inline, i.e. without open up a popup.

  6. Be able to add effort time in main panel

When we trace the effort the effort time can only is visible by going to the task edit. It was great if I could add it to the main panel to be able to see the time used for specific task

This is possible already, simply go to view > New Viewer > Effort to add a panel for effort view, the panel can then be dropped into place wherever you like in the main view. I put mine below the task viewer

  7. Add a button to allow changing the background color in 1.0.3

As I can't seem to be able to find it.

  8. The merge functionality

It would be very interresting that this functionality allows to merge the efforts of the different tasks from one .tsk file to the current .tsk file.
Thank you very much for the very goog tool you build !

This functionality already is there. When you merge a taskfile, the effort is merged too.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding what you mean. In that case, open a new feature request and try to explain what you want with more words.

    Thanks, Frank

  9. Show the group total effort time based on child tasks

It could be show in the software interface and in exporting options. It could be very helpful to compute a total time instead of adding all the subtasks effort times. Thank you for this great application!

  10. add the pipe character to allowed list of import delimiters

Pipe is becoming an increasing ubiquitous delimiter, as it is very unlikely to appear in many types of data.

  12. Needs a calendar view: Day, Week, Month & Year, at a glance... that would be perfect!

A calendar view would visually help me avoid scheduling conflicts. I can't do two things at once. The visual would relay a lot of information, quickly. Think of it as a "daily planner." Would be helpful, if it could be printed out, for a hard copy in a three ring binder. Love your program. Still learning.

    Hi Fred,

There already is a calendar view. Just go to View menu > New viewer > calendar

It has many options. Task Coach has a lot of features already. I suggest reading through the Help contents from the help menu, maybe just exploring the menu items to see what’s there.

Still, there is lots of room for improvements. If you find that there is something you wish were different about the calendar viewer, please come back and post specific requests (but try to search for related requests first to avoid duplication)

Based on your request, you might want to vote for this:

    Thanks!

  13. Filter to see tasks from a few selected categories at once (task list view)

I would like to filter tasks from a few selected categories in the task list view to see them at once.

  15. Scalable view in calendar view (month)

It will be cool to see all the current month in the calendar view ! Actually I need to use scrolling (left and right). The feature could give the ability to choose a scale (10% step) and a fit view ?

  16. provide a means to replicate an effort.

Your tip says this is alpha. I disagree. I think it is well developed and excellent. So be proud!!

I *would like to be able to replicate an effort. For example, I do pretty much everything at work each day as far as task, times, and so forth. So it would be fun to copy and effort and paste it four times for the week, then hit each to edit the description.

No biggie, as I use XML in a text editor or in [XML Copy Editor] to do just this, but for folks not that acquainted with XML it…

main task gets completed automatically when all subtasks are completed. should be configurable so that main tasks can be manually set to complete when desired.

  18. Speed when filtering task by category

I used Task Coach for a couple of weeks now, and the data is becoming bigger every day (300 tasks, 43 categories, 50 notes). When I click on a category in the Category View, it sometimes takes a couple of seconds before I see the subset tasks for that category.

  19. Inheritance: new subTasks are marked with the same categories the parent task.

When creating subtasks is desirable that they get the same categories as they parent, using his parent as a template. If I am doing some task A to Mr.Ed (a categorie: person -> Mr.Ed ) and it has 50 subtasks is a pain in the ass to remenber to mark the categorie "person -> Mr.Ed" on all these sub tasks, better if I have to mark only the new categories the subtasks may have and his parent not.

  20. Drag and Drop tasks to change they from parent/root/child tasks to other hierarchy.

When "brainstorming" the creation of multiple tasks whe don´t care if they are parent, child, or sibling of others, so I create all they as parent. Now, when I start ordering the tasks some of they must be a sub-task of another and the only way to put they as a subTask is manually creating all task, again, as a subtask, then deleting the old one. It would be so easy and simle if I could just drag and drop getting it from root and putting as a subtask of another task.
