filter tasks due before end the next 7 days or 30 days
Currently tasks can be filtered to be shown if they are due by the end of the day, tomorrow, week, work week, month and year. It would be beneficial to have a rolling filter, say 7 days from today, so that when you come to the end of the week, the tasks due early in the next week are not a surprise when you come back after the weekend. Otherwise you need to change the filter to see what is coming up.
The number of days could be user defined or the next 7, 14, 30, 60 and 356 days…

Modify completed tasks
I often have completed tasks that I need to display in a black and white printed document. Having a strike through or italicize the completed tasks would help to differentiate them.

make it possible to start an effort for a task that has no start date
It would be great if I could start tracking an effort for a task that has no start date. Now, I have to open the task, set the start date, and then start tracking effort.
If a task has no start date, it should get Now() as startdate and time, when I press the "Start tracking effort" button.

Display long description in task browser.
I used to update my tasks with their last status at the beginning of the description field. So a quick look on the tasks browser show me a good overview of my tasks status.
But when description are getting longer and longer, browsing becomes a nightmare even if I enable the popup descriptions.
Is it possible to set a maximum height of the description aera, let say 4 lines of text ?
Frank had proposed : "I do see one other option and that is to teach the widget that displays the task tree to put long texts in a…6 votesLong descriptions never take more than four lines in the viewers, starting release 1.0.3.

Effort Rounding - Option to Always Round UP
It would be great to have an option for the new Effort rounding feature to always round UP to the nearest increment specified. Otherwise, if the time spent on an effort is less than the specified increment, it appears that no time was spent. For example, suppose I have an effort on which I spent 6 min. The results are as follows:
Rounding Displays As
1min 0:06
5min 0:05
6min 0:06
10min 0:10
15min (or larger) [BLANK]But I could also see situations where a user who spent, say, 16 min. on an effort with 15min. rounding would want to…

Make effort button active for inactive tasks
The toolbar effort button now is inactive if the start date is in the future or not set. If the effort button were active for inactive tasks, the user could initiate effort and if unset, the start date could be set to the date of the initial effort for that task.

Keyboard Shortcut for search
If there are many tasks the serach is very usable to find a special task. It would be nice if you can set the focus to the search field with e.g. Ctrl-F so you do not have to use the mouse for this.

Recurring Daily Reminder
I think it would be great if you could set tasks to display a recurring reminder (for example a daily reminder or each time I open Task Coach).

Default Start/Due/Reminder times
Can you have a setting for the default time on (start/Due/Reminder) It defaults to 23:59. If you forget to set it the event is missed instead of perhaps too early.

drag and drop to change dates in calendar view
The calendar view is great!! I love seeing everything arranged visually on the calendar.
It would be great if it was possible to drag-and-drop a date to another cell in the calendar, and have that date updated within the task. Right now it looks like you've got to double-click on the task, then click on the 'dates' tab, then click on the datepicker widget, then remember where you wanted to move it to, then select that date, etc.
Thanks!
5 votesThis is now possible. Please add further requests or bug reports if you have any trouble.
Note: the behavior currently changes both planned and due dates. Perhaps this should be a preference setting though…

Resume Last Effort from Taskbar
It would be great if I could right-click on the Task Coach icon in the Windows taskbar and select an option to "Resume Last Effort". With hundreds of tasks, scrolling through the list is too tedious. But I often have to stop an effort when I leave my desk and want to resume that same effort when I return. Thanks!

Offer hotkey to clear category checkboxes (if available, add to Help file)
Along with a hotkey (keyboard shortcut) to clear (de-select) all category checkboxes, please provide keyboard shortcuts for all existing actions, settings, etc. And, finally, create a "Keyboard Shortcuts" section in the Help file. (I love your application's features & interface; I'm totally dependent upon it now.)
5 votesRelease 1.2.10 provides a keyboard shortcut to clear all filters (Shift-Ctrl-F).

allow inserting a (start,reminder,...)-time in the mmss instead of mm:ss -format (easy conversion)
By now, you need to insert time in the specified format mm:ss.
It would be much faster without the obligatory ":" e.g. on the NumPad.
Afert 4 Numbers were inserted, it could automatically insert an ":" as third character.4 votesWe did not do exactly this, but the new v. 1.3.21 has a new date/time picker. In this, you can simply type “.” (a period) to move from hours to minutes (and back). So you can enter a time entirely on the NumPad, for example 12.35 and it will work.

a agenda view where temporary tasks can be selected on which should be worked today. So you can gro
Each day you can then select some tasks you want to work with out of all at least many different categories. Which usually is somehow difficult to overview. I used to use a new category 'Today' for that which is than assigned to the tasks I want to work on today. But it is somhow time-consuming to switch the categories of some tasks to and from 'today' each time.
For example you shouldn't work on more then 5 tasks a day. The next day this 5 tasks are different. So you get a dialog presented if you want to work…4 votesPlease use the View→Filter→Only show tasks due today menu option.
Cheers, Frank
