Allow subject categorizations
I find it useful to have multiple subject types; for example, location (Home, Work, Car, Laptop, etc), who for (Mom, Wife, Friend, Business, etc), and disposition (dislike, like, enjoy [to vary activities throughout a work period]). Right now I do this through symbols in front, but it gets messy. It would be nice if there was a way to set up multiple subject fields for these different contexts.

One window for the task
I would like to have all important information about the task in one window. Now there are many separated windows like Description, Dates, Progress.. I would like to have the contain of these windows in one window at least: Description, Dates, Progress, Budget.
It safe many clicks and get better overview.4 votesYou can do this mostly. For each tab in the editor, you can drag it to different parts of the window to create multiple panes that are shown at once. It works like the way different viewers can be shown at once in the main Task Coach window.
And your settings will be saved as the default for the future. -

a agenda view where temporary tasks can be selected on which should be worked today. So you can gro
Each day you can then select some tasks you want to work with out of all at least many different categories. Which usually is somehow difficult to overview. I used to use a new category 'Today' for that which is than assigned to the tasks I want to work on today. But it is somhow time-consuming to switch the categories of some tasks to and from 'today' each time.
For example you shouldn't work on more then 5 tasks a day. The next day this 5 tasks are different. So you get a dialog presented if you want to work…4 votesPlease use the View→Filter→Only show tasks due today menu option.

Sync with Dropbox
Windows mobile, iphone-pad, Android, ... there are too many mOSs to sync to. I take a simpler approach. I output text and html files to Dropbox and pick them up from my various mobile devices. Lowest common denominator. Making this work with fewer steps, and allowing import to TC from Dropbox would be really cool. I can be more detailed if there is enough interest.
4 votesRelease 1.2.26 of Task Coach supports importing and exporting of Todo.txt files.

Calendar View - Start with current date
Currently, in the weekly calendar, the first displayed date is always Monday. Personally, I don't care about tasks that happened in the past. When I'm in the weekly view, I'm primarily concerned with viewing tasks that will occur during the next seven days. Therefore, I'd like to have the option to make the current date the first date displayed. This would allow the user to see all events coming up in the next seven days, without having to scroll the view to the following week and without having to be distracted by old tasks.

Category AND/OR optional
Currently the category list selections works as logical OR and it would be nice if add new button was added that could toggle between logical AND and OR.
Example: I want to see all tasks in category1 and category2 so I select both, but the current system only works as logical OR and shows too much!

How about a field for responsible personel?
An additional field to input the name of the responsible
3 votesYou can easily do this right now, using categories. Simply create a category Person and a subcategory for each person you need to assign tasks to, e.g. Person→Mary, Person→Joe, etc.

Calculate progress of a task automatically based on subtasks progress
I would like to have an option for a task that allows its progress to be automatically calculated based on the progress of subtasks.
For this to be accomplished, it would be necessary to tells what importance (in percentage) each subtask has on the main task.
For example, let's assume I have a main task (Task1) with 2 subtasks (TaskA and TaskB). I tell the software that TaskA has 75% of importance and TaskB has 25%. When I put the progress of TaskA in 50% and 10% of TaskB, the Task1 should display 40% (50% * 75% + 10% *…

Save attachment data not only a path to it
May be save an attachment files to a special storage folder of Taskcoach.
It very usefull for Portable version, because all data should be Portable including Task-Attachements
3 votesThis is already possible. In the preferences dialog (the files tab) set the attachment base directory to your portable device. When attaching files, first copy them to your portable device and then attach them.

Select a (sub)task over a number of weeks and see at once how much time I spent on it
I'd like to be able to select a (sub)task over any number of weeks and to see at once how much time I have spent on it so far.
3 votesThis information is viewable in many ways, from effort viewer to the time spent column. If you have a specific request about the exact way this is shown, please add that separately.

Show "Time Spent" column in the Tasks view
Currently there is no view that shows the "Time Spent" for several tasks at a glance.
It would be usefull to diplay it as a column in the Tasks view.3 votesThis is already available. Right click on the column headers and find “Time Spent” under the “budget” submenu. It’s also available under the View>Columns menu. Cheers

Adding tasktype and contacts with filter options
Is it possible to add a tasktype en contactsname when adding to ta task or subtask.
Tasktypes are:
-Telephone
-Mail
-Meeting
-Write
-Design
-Check-etc.
With an option to filter on contacts and/or tasktype you can plan your contacts what to discuss and see for the day what kind of activity (like designing) you to do list consists of.
3 votesThis is already possible using categories. Create a category for each “task type” you’d like to have. Open a category viewer to filter by category.

Show/hide main window by one/double left click on system tray.
Also I would like to show/hide on one/double left click on system tray.
Currently it shows up by left double click on system tray. And hiding will be a good feature for easy use. No more mouse movements to hide the main window after quick view of task list from system tray.

Enable editing of effort
I would like to be able to edit time spent on tasks. Because I have forgotten to start tracking, or stop tracking, or clicked the wrong task.
3 votesThis is already possible. Just double click an effort record in the effort viewer (open one via View→Open viewer→Effort) or use the “Add effort…” menu item to add effort records after the fact.

Change cursor focus in list view when completing a task
I use list view and noticed that when I complete a task, the cursor focus follows the completed task to the bottom of my list. It would make more sense if the cursor focus went to the top of the list when completing a task, or the next incomplete task that follows the task just completed.
3 votesFor me, this works, cursor stay in the same place in the list.

Default snooze time for remainder dialog
If you have many remainders it will much better, if the default "snooze time" is not "no snooze". If the default snooze time is for example 18 hours, then you can't forgot an remainder by too fast clicking on the ok button.
3 votesThis is possible in release 1.2.24.
