let the people choose notification system.
1.1 reminders do not work when program is minimized / in tray. And reminder windiw pops up only when I open application window. It's useless this way.
3 votesLook in the “Features” tab in the preferences; you can choose the notification system here.

Task status
I would be great if there where a free text field for each task. The text field is perfect to use if one have to send regular status reports to 3rd person. This text field should also be in the "front page" column view so it could be exported.

In "List of Tasks" mode, it should be possible to hide parent tasks that have children
On the task viewer, when the user switches from "Tree of Tasks" to "List of Tasks", there should be an option (maybe a checkbox) to hide root tasks that have children.
I consider root tasks as something that will only be accomplished when all children are completed. If you have a lot of tasks, when you are on "List of Tasks" mode, a lot of "garbage" appears with root tasks that I don't want to see because they are not my current focus. In another words, if a task has subtasks open, I should be able to hide it, until…
3 votesThis is already possible. Use the “View→Filter→Hide composite tasks” filter.

ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE: field for location where work is to be done & ability to sort, select on it.
ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE:
I need a field for location where work is to be done & ability to sort, select on it, etc. For anyone who does work in more than one place location is a key organizing criterion.3 votesYou can use categories for this.
Cheers, Frank
PS: No need for shouting.

add filter "hide composite tasks" for calendar view
the checkbox "hide composite tasks" is disabled for calendar view. It would, however, be very useful if one wants to see only the concrete small tasks to do for each day.
3 votesThis will be possible in the next 1.1 release.

Subtask inherits parent task's properties
When I create a subtask under a task, I'd like for it to be assigned the category (especially) and priority of the parent task.
Let's say I have a task, "repair laptop," with a number of subtasks that I want to ensure get done, in order. This is a "priority 2" task and falls under my "equipment maintenance" category. I crank out my list, creating subtask after subtask, but when I'm done I have a bunch of priority 0 subtasks with no category.
3 votesThis is already the case. Make the “total” columns visible, e.g. “overall priority” and “overall categories”.

Able to add a comment when I stop the clock a task
When I stop the clock with the right mouse button out of the task bar I would like a small window to open where I can write a comment... this would save time having to click through the task to be able to comment on the time slot I was working on.
3 votesYou can open the last effort record in the effort viewer and your comments to the effort record’s description.

Categories filter with AND instead of OR
I would like to say: show me only the tasks that are in each of the selected categories - like a facade-search. At the moment all task that are at least in one of the selected categories are displayed.
3 votesThis is already possible. Use the dropdown menu on the category viewer toolbar. You may have to maximize the category viewer briefly to make the menu visible.

Faster access to filter menu options
It would be great to have faster access to the filter menu options via icons in the toolbar!
3 votesDone! In v. 1.3.21 toolbars are customizable, and there are new buttons for hiding and showing every task state. Additionally, shift-click on these new tools will automatically hide all OTHER states and show only the one clicked!

Μonthly calendar
In the monthly calendar I would like to see only due date or only reminder date.
can this be done somehow3 votesThere is an option on the calendar viewer toolbar to only show tasks that have a due date. Showing reminders is not possible at the moment. Please create another, more specific, feature request for that. In general, don’t combine multiple features in one request, it makes it hard to track them. Thanks, Frank

Access Task Coach Thumbdrive Installation from both Ubuntu and WinDose
I work and play on both Ubuntu and WinDoze platforms. I'd like to put Task Coach on a thumb drive, and to be able to access and manage my task list from either platform.
3 votesIf you have Task Coach installed on both systems you can access the task file from both systems. If you also want to install Task Coach on the thumbdrive, that’s possible. Just install both a Windows version (preferably the PortableApps version) and a Linux version. You’ll have to install them to different folders of course.

Zooming for the Calendar view
It would be nice to be able to see more tasks on the Calendar - currently we're stuck at one day only with the possiblity of dragging the scroll to the next days. It would make sense to zoom out to see more tasks coming in soon.

Change the colour of the background in the main window
I am both dyslexic and have sight problems. I can change the task windows background colour but the main window with its lists and toolbars stays blindingly white (ow!) despite other windows applications allowing me to do something with them. Can you add something to preferences to change this before I go blind? ;-)

Add another "completed Items" filter option - insert date.
Most companies have task review meetings. In these meetings it is commonplace to review completed tasks since the previous meeting. For the sake of argument, we will have a fortnightly meeting. The filter options available will either miss out tasks (only including the last week), or include ones already covered in the last meeting (monthly).
To cover these situations, would it be possible to have a date filter option which filters out completed items before a certain date? It would give complete flexibility for any situation, and would be enormously useful, certainly for me.

Get a Flattr button on your web site
In order to allow to make donations easier, why don't you get a flattr (www.flattr.com) button on your web site? That'll be one click and you'll be supported!
3 votesFlattr changed their policy so we can now have a Flattr button without being forced to donate a fixed amount each month ourselves.
