automatic download & install of new versions
It's great to see how frequently TaskCoach is being improved. But it would be very nice if users could opt for automatic downloading & installing of each new version. Right now, we receive an alert when a new version update is available, but I'd like TaskCoach to do it all -- to find when a new update are available, to download the new update, to install the new update, and to display a list of version changes. (Of course, users should be given a choice in the program settings -- or in the Help menu -- to implement automatic updating or not.) Such a feature could save users significant time. Thanks!

To follow up on the comments below:
This is already complete on *some* Linux distros because you can add the PPA for Ubuntu-related systems:
https://launchpad.net/~taskcoach-developers/+archive/ppaThere's a request separately for getting more integrated with other systems and for getting Task Coach into the full Ubuntu Software Center and such:
https://taskcoach.uservoice.com/forums/26480-other-task-coach-requests/suggestions/612267-make-the-linux-packages-available-in-repositoriesSo that's the route for Linux.
Mac and Windows should certainly have this (and don't worry, it would be an option you could turn off!)

This could be useful for some people, but I would definitely NOT want automatic updates. I rely heavily on TaskCoach, and I only want to upgrade after I have a chance to review the changes, test the new version, etc.

Only do it for windows and Mac. Linux has its own package management.

Yeah let's test it on Windows!

I'd like this as well. Since we're cross platform and packaging is different for each platform, this may be quite some work though. Maybe we should tackle this one platform at a time and see what we can do on Windows first (as it seems to be the most used among Task Coach users).
