Use clipboard/command line to insert new task
Give a quick way to insert a new task without going through Insert new task menu
For instance, use Clipboard (use current XML structure of tsk file) or add a command line with taskcoach to insert a task / sub task
I’m leaving this open because it is somewhat separate, but it is very connected to this:

Note that these commands (see Frank's comment) are different on Mac. You hit command-N for new task, and currently you have to press escape instead of enter to leave the editor (although that's arguably a bug)

I don't see what the XML structure has to do with inserting new tasks. Anyway, there's the INSERT keyboard shortcut. Hit INSERT, type the task subject and hit ENTER to create the new task. No clicking required.

Yes please! Going through menu and clicking on each item is quite slow.
