Change the user directory for Linux from ~/.config/"Task Coach" to ~.config/TaskCoach
Linux does not read ~/.config/Task Coach as ~/.config/"Task Coach"
As a result, when closing down TaskCoach I get a complaint:
Error while saving TaskCoach.ini:[ErrNo 2]No such file or directory

Errr, no. There must be another problem; I use Task Coach on Linux and the space in the filename is perfectly valid. It's the shell that interprets it a something "special", and we don't use the shell to save a file. Could you open a bug on SourceForge instead?
