improve compatibility with outlook by ...
2 things that might improve compatibility with outlook:
Split the CVS field for dates (eg start date) to "date" and "time" (outlook asks how to import a CVS and wants 2 separate fields)
If a task has a start and a due date then presumably it can be seen as an "appointment", then label it in the icalendar file (ics) as VENENT rather than a VTODO. The due date should also be labeled as DTEND in order for this to work. VTODO is not recognised by outlook 2007 and earlier, mb even by outlook 2010 (I dont have it). I have tested an ICS file exported from task coach where I only changed the values as mentioned and it imports fine. If a DTEND value is not set, outlook presumes it is a 1h appointment. In order to keep compatibility with proper calendars, I would be happy with a custom export filter just for outlook where I can tag tasks that are appointments and export only those
Hope I am not asking much,
Costas
Nr. 1 is available in the latest release. Nr. 2 is rejected. Tasks are best represented by VTODO. I don’t want to abuse a perfectly good standard to accomodate another tool.
