Provide context menu to quickly postpone task
Have a context menu, a hotkey, or a similar flexible method, to postpone a task deadline directly from the task list viewer (e.g. I see a task I will not be able to finish this week, dancing in red on top of task list, I right click and select "Postpone to -> Next Monday" and it shifts its deadline accordingly ...

@ Aaron: Cool. Sounds good.

And your comment brings up a major issue: you can't just change the date because then the recurring pattern will change for the future. So this is a whole complex issue to solve.
I've made a bunch of notes about it, and we'll get to discussing this at some point, it just isn't the top priority right now.

I have a reminder to exercise on Monday that is high priority because I do it in the morning. If I can't do it on Monday, then it sits at the top of my list all day, even though I decided to do it Tuesday.
That's why I want a good way to postpone tasks.

I agree that a contextual menu could be a good place for this feature.
I'd also like it to bring up a dialog offering various ways to postpone. The postponement could be chosen to change only the planned start, only the due date, or both. I'd like to see a relative date change (e.g. change this date entry by +/- this much), which would not only be useful mentally but would make it possible to postpone multiple tasks at once without making them all set to the same time.
And having a hotkey for quick postponement would be nice too.
I fully support this feature request, but there is already a way to postpone in the task viewer, although it is more clunky. If you are showing a planned date or due date column, you can click once on the date and it becomes editable. Press ENTER to set your changes.

Something for all us procrastinators. Something like this is available in a couple of other task management systems I have used.
