Make it possible to pause the task timer
It would be nice if you could pause the timer when you go on a coffee break, rather then stopping and starting it.
Pausing is available in release 1.2.10.

Pause.
"Why would you expect that the description of the previous effort record is copied?"
Example:
Client 1 = task 1
Effort 1 = technical design
Effort 2 = technical report - text
Today:
Client 1
design 1 hour + cofee break 12 min + design 50 min + text 2 hours + (other task client 2, 1 hour) + text 2 hours
tot 482 min
Results:
Task 1 client 1 = 350 min
Only 2 lines
effort 1 = design = 110 min
effort 2 = text = 240 min -
Hi Murray,
Why don't you use subtasks (e.g. Client X->Update website), put the description in the subtask and then track effort for the subtask?
Thanks, Frank

Hi Frank,
Perhaps I'm not using TCoach correctly. I use it for tracking time on jobs for each client (I'm a website developer). I have all my clients set us as Tasks (one task per client (eg. task:Client X, task:Client Y etc), and then for each job I do for a client I select the appropriate task (eg "Client X") and go > New Effort, add an effort description (eg "website updates") and do the work.
When I pause for a coffee break I can now Pause Effort (fantastic!), and when I start work again I resume the effort. Because I'm resuming an existing effort the new effort record (created by clicking Resume) should have the same description as the original effort before breaking for coffee - I would go "New Effort" if the desc was to be different such as "publish updates" for example. Does that make sense? -
@Murray Why would you expect that the description of the previous effort record is copied? What are you using the description for? (Trying to understand how you're using Task Coach, there might be a better solution than copying the description).

Great improvement thanks! But....
When you resume tracking an effort the description is left blank - is it possible to have this set to the description of the original effort which we are resuming?
Task Coach is nearing perfection.... you guys are doing a great job on this project. -

yep, this is essential if task coach is going to continue to be the BEST! It's a damn pain as it is. I realize it's probably also a pain to incorporate this feature into the existing code but I personally think this should be HIGH priority regardless. Cheers
