show some indication when something hidden matches a search
For example, in Gmail, there is a little thing saying that something in the trash matches your search, and then an option to show it.
I'd like something similar for hidden things. It would be nicest if it identified the variety of hiding (i.e. there are inactive tasks that match the search or there are completed, or there are tasks outside of the filtered categories). But just anything at all indicating the existence of hidden things matching the search would be very helpful.
I might like to see this as a notice showing up in the bar at the top right next to the search box, but maybe it would be easiest to just show this indication in the statusbar.

This would be nice for category filtering too.
I was thinking this all through a lot and I thought of many ways this could work. Right now, I think the best and most practical way to implement this is probably:
Make a second statusbar show up at the bottom of the window whenever categories are being filtered or a search is done. Have the new statusbar match all the same data from the regular statusbar except only for the tasks that match the search and/or category filtering. By showing both statusbars, the system total can be easily compared to the search in every way, it will be easy to figure out what is hidden, and the existence of the second bar will draw visual attention to the fact that a search or category filtering is taking place and that this is where to get information about it. If the second statusbar is a different color or is otherwise labeled as the status for the search, it will be very clear.
