add a per-task override for # hours considered to be "due soon"
Right now, a task that is both inactive and due soon is coloured in the due soon colour because it is due soon. I have some tasks (recurring) that I always do on weekends, so I have them start the Saturday and be due the Sunday. I want them to be grey and easy to ignore on week days, but turn due-soon on weekends. However, for the benefit of my other tasks, I would rather have a much longer "due soon" period than just 90 hours; a week or so is preferable, giving me a nice amount of warning for nontrivial tasks. If a user has chosen a specific time at which a task should start being done, it doesn't make a lot of sense to paint big bright warnings at a time when the user has decided they shouldn’t be working on the task yet!

I have no preference for either solution. They both sound good!

I already have a note that it would be nice to have an override for the # of hours that is considered due soon. Would you be comfortable with my editing this request to make it basically that? So it would be: "Allow a per-task override for # of hours to be marked due soon"
This would achieve what you want and also allow some tasks to be marked even earlier if desired.
