Dock Task Editor as pane in main window
I'd like to edit tasks without double clicking on each. And it would be nice to quickly see the full details of any selected task.
it should be possible to handle the "task editor panel" as a 'view' (such as 'notes', 'categories' ...). Then its content updates according to selected task.
Obviously, the editor should update to follow whatever task is selected in the task viewer.
I should have realized this before, but this is basically a duplicate of a much higher-voted request:
The idea of docking the task editor is just a good way to accomplish the other general request of an “edit” viewer.

A few extra thoughts:
1. workaround to avoid mouse: You can at least do editing without double-clicking by using keyboard commands. Up and down arrows can select the task, and ENTER brings up the editor and ESCAPE closes it.
2. Side request: Given that the request here requires implementing a task editor that can update itself to match the selected task in the task viewer, the following could be implemented easily before implementing (or in conjunction with) the docking idea:
* add "next" and "previous" buttons to the task editor, next to the "close" button. These would do the same thing as down and up arrows in the task viewer but update the editor to match, and thus no need to return to the task viewer to change tasks that are being edited.
This is requested here:
http://taskcoach.uservoice.com/forums/26465-desktop-version-windows-linux-mac-of-task-coach/suggestions/2159691-add-navigation-buttons-in-edit-window3. A significant reason to implement this (either the full request or my thought above) is that it could allow quickly editing many tasks for a certain parameter, for example categories, without having to show the column in the viewer and without the hassle of switching back to that column every time the next task is opened for editing.
