Add support for opening multiple tsk files
Each open task file should be thought of as an instance. If I had an "open new window" and "open new tab", it would give me the capability of having multiple task files open at once.
Check out MacOS Safari for how the feature works

This feature would be really helpful for me, something similar to KeePass's tabs could work well.
(plus this suggestion has been open for over a decade :))

This would be a really helpful feature, especially if there was also an option to move tasks between two .tsk files.
I use Task Coach for personal tasks & projects and also at work (both my day job and my part-time teaching job). All three files are synced via dropbox and I tried using a single task file with different high-level categories but this doesn't work well, particularly with reminders. When I'm at home working on personal stuff I don't want to see reminders for my day job (but I do want to see reminders related to the class I'm teaching), and when I'm at work I usually don't want to see personal reminders unless I'm working on personal things during my lunch break.
Now that multiple concurrent users is supported I was thinking about promoting use of Task Coach in my office for certain projects. If I get any buy-in for this we would *definitely* need to have separate files for different projects since we wouldn't want every Task Coach user in the office to have unrestricted access to everything. I'm concerned that the lack of built-in support for multiple files might be a deal-breaker since we wouldn't be getting any help from IT and I don't have time to be tech support for my office. (IT would just tell us to use MS Project and that's over-kill for our needs.)
I also use the Android version of Task Coach that is now available and that program's design also makes using multiple files a much better solution.

Separate files helps organization of tasks. The problem with doing so is reminders - they only happen for the currently open file.

I'd rather like this one as well - I manage a number of people on a couple of different projects and it'd be nice to be able to have separate files open to track what they're doing as well.

While I like the features described, simply having support for multiple open files that you can switch to in the windows tab would be a great start. Constantly opening and closing files to switch is cumbersome....

As a sub-component of this, is it possible to allow several task files to be opened at a given time? It appears that Taskcoach will only fire off reminders for the currently loaded task file. If it could hold multiple files, I'd be guaranteed that I'd see all of my reminders. It should also remember those files so they pre-load when taskcoach is restarted.
