  1. Please consider adding a feature to automatically stop recording effort at the end of a normal work day. Thanks :)

  2. I would like to have the start-up effort window only show the effort items for the selected task and any children it may have. Changing the selected task will change the effort items shown immediately. I will be able to select items up/down the task tree. The only time I will see all tasks is when I have selected a root task/item.
I am currently creating a new file for each task in order to achieve this where my preference would be to have all work in a single file and ordered in a treeview as [I believe] was intended. …

This is a fine request, but it basically duplicates this:

    https://taskcoach.uservoice.com/forums/26465-desktop-version-windows-linux-mac-of-task-coach/suggestions/3056420-task-view-shows-tasks-grouped-by-field-eg-catego

We should figure out to combine these and delete one or the other.

Anyway, please look at the comments there. There is a big problem with your suggestion because categories are not mostly mutually exclusive. So grouping by category could make sense but how do we show tasks that are in multiple categories? Do they get shown multiple times in the list??

I think the use of a task the way you do already makes sense, and it is what I do. We have not figured out a good answer for how to handle this otherwise.

    Cheers,
    Aaron

  4. The effort records seem to be tied to particular tasks. When a task is completed & deleted, the effort spent on it disappears. It would be nice to have effort records independent of tasks.

  5. It'd be easier to see where each task starts and ends (especially if the heights vary) if the background color varied slightly with alternating tasks. It's a pretty common thing. White background, light grey or blue background, white background, etc.

  6. I have a lots of tasks (I use task coach a lot ! ) and have to scroll a lot when changing from one task to the other, eventually "losing" it.
Also when I stopped monitoring and want to resume on a task, this function would greatly help me in finding it.

  7. Once you start a task you should be asked for the time-cost (in min, hours, days) and difficulty that you expect for such a task and later on compare it with the real cost resulted. Good feature for post analysis and reports about own awareness and time-management control. Thanks for thinking about it!

  9. It would be nice to be able to move a task in time. That is, a constant time (predefined list?) would be added or subtracted from all filled dates in the Dates tab. A keyboard shortcut would be nice to speed up the action. A motivation - for example I have a meeting at a set time, but the time of the meeting changes, so I want to rearrange the start date, due date and reminder date. Or a task I planned for today, but did not work on it, so want to move it to tomorrow. I think more…

  10. This would enhance the usability very much. It woud be possible to calculate the total time duration of a procedure not depending on specific
dates. Templates for the same procedures could be created.
    This is project-management, I know ...

  11. Hello and thanks for TaskCoach, it is a very good piece of software.
I usually use two viewers : the Tasks Tree Viewer, and the Effort list viewer.
The Effort viewer allows me to resume a recent task because I can sort the list in chronological order.
The Tasks Tree viewer allows me to organize and create new tasks.
When I select an effort in the Effort viewer, I often want to find it in the Tasks Tree, and it is almost always hidden or scrolled out of the focus window.
I would very much appreciate a command allowing to…

  12. It's great that you can start an effort and open it and click start from last stop, but it'd be nice to do something like ctrl+alt+t (since ctrl+shift+t is reserved for stop and alt+shift+t is for edit ) to start a new effort from last stop.

  13. This is related to my old request of "Bring back the old time picker", but this time a more reasonable request. :P

    http://taskcoach.uservoice.com/forums/26465-desktop-version-windows-linux-mac-of-task-coach/suggestions/3537627-bring-back-old-time-picker

I was setting the stop time of an effort and put in the wrong hour. I wanted to change it from 1 PM to 2 PM. When I clicked on the hour field, it brought up a list of hours, but instead of 1 PM selected, it showed 1 AM. I expected that when I changed the hour, it was just that, and not whether it was AM or PM.

I think either it should just show…

  14. It would be interesting to include a new field to record the 'date of issue/problem', as it does not coincide with the date when the corresponding record is created.

  15. I use Task Coach to keep track of my various activities during the day and use this to report to my supervisor / manager / superiors / etc. Because of this, I have to keep the completed tasks in my list for a decent amount of time. However, having to go in and manually change the priority so the completed tasks are not intermingled with non completed tasks has become a considerable annoyance and I would hope that in a not to distant update for Task Coach that you add in the option of setting completed tasks to a defined…

  16. I save Tack coach and Thunderbird Cal-Davs in Nextcloud local folder to sync out. it would be great if I could sync a common file to Thunderbird.
I see there is already an export of iCal and ToDo files.
If there was an auto-export function, that could point to nextcloud, then it would all be possible.
I think this would also help Evolution users too.
    Thanks

    1. Provide the capability of displaying time (the term "time" is used here in its general sense (yyyy mm dd hh mm ss etc.)) in a user selectable and definable format.

    2. The format should also include user selectable delimiters between various units of time such as "space" ( ), "hyphen" (-), "forward slash" (/), "greater than" (>), and other symbols to separate the various units of time.
