Have the start date of the dependencies be driven by the end date of the prerequisites
If you link the tasks, where the start date of the dependancies are driven by the end date of the prerequisite, then if you are late in completing a task it drives the start of the dependencies to the right and the end date of the project is also pushed out.

Optional encryption of tsk file (aka password protection).
Encrypted partitions are not enough when computer is shared with other people (admins) or when it belongs to the enterprise we work for

Work around that can be use now is to put the url link into description. Once you have this, I guess the basic functionality for attachment shall be complete.

Mark a Task as Meta.
Meta tasks inherit subtask attributes but have no own attributes like dates or budgets, etc.
8 votesWhile we aren’t going to have a special “meta” status for tasks, the current release no longer makes parent tasks have dates to match subtasks. Instead, parent tasks can have their own date settings but they will be updated in the system to be shown and sorted to match the dates of subtasks.
We’re working on how to show the indications in the look of the parent when collapsed.
But you are now already able to have a meta task basically by simply leaving the dates unmarked.

Do note that Task Coach has unlimited undo, and there’s a separate request for a trash that holds items before permanent removal:

include dependancy between tasks
there are tasks that depend on others that might be invisible until the completion of dependencies
7 votesAdminAaron Wolf (Admin, Task Coach) respondedWhat does this entail? What do you want differently?
I suggested an iconized column view here:
https://taskcoach.uservoice.com/forums/26465-desktop-version-windows-linux-mac-of-task-coach/suggestions/3071426-add-icon-only-iconized-option-for-most-columnsThen hovering over the indicator would identify the tasks in question, and this would help make it easier to quickly see that there are dependents or prereqs.
Please clarify soon. Otherwise, I’m going to close this request, because I don’t understand it.

Have a setting for number of days to be considered "due soon"
Right now entry is in hours. I'd like to just enter days.
7 votesAdminAaron Wolf (Admin, Task Coach) respondedThe original request mixed mention of days and mention of more than 90 hours. The current version now supports an unlimited number of hours. This request is now going to be just for specially marking days (even though you can calculate any number of days by entering the hour amount).
If you do not care about this, please remove your votes. The more-than-90 hour issue is complete.
Thanks

I’m leaving this open but it is somewhat duplicating this:

effort : warning after an envisaged time spent (timer with alarm for efforts)
It could be great to be able to enter an envisaged time when beginning an effort. An alarm will tell us when the time is spent.
Could prevent spending too much time on a task or forgetting switching between efforts.7 votes -
path to the backup copies configurable
If you are using taskcoach on an USBStick and different computers (workstation laptop at home ...) you will like it, to have the backup copy not on your USB-Stick.
I lost the second time my xmlfile filesize 0bytes

make it possible to use categorys as columns
Many people have come up with suggestions on getting custom columns.
I have once before asked for a "status" column, and gotten a fair answer (Too many columns in total)
I was now thinking - if you could create a category, with subcategorys, and you use that as a column. Then you could create all the custom columns you'd need?If you need any further explanaition, I will be happy to explain :)

Can you change the print list to print the small icons and the dot lines, like it is seen as the screen ?

use the description in the previous effort, when selecting resume effort.
Usually the effort description will either remain the same or need very little change for how I use the program.

A column for total expected revenue, calculating budget x hourly fee
Also, the option to include fixed fees as well would be good

Importing efforts from a csv file
I use Task Coach 1.3.32 in OS Windows :
=> it is possible to export a selection of efforts to a csv file
=> when you import such a csv file, it is always seen as a "tasks export file"
It would be interesting to be able to import efforts as it is possible to import tasks.
Anyway, thanks for this product which is very useful and well made.7 votes -
View only by category without task. Add sum by columns: time, budget, profit etc. by category.
Its useful to analyse by category in different tasks.

Separate category selection and other filtering/sorting per viewer
With multiple viewers, give each viewer control over the categories shown.
Other preferences could also be moved to per-view, such as number of days for "due soon", but the category is my main desire.
7 votesThis is an important request, and I think it goes hand-in-hand with this:
http://taskcoach.uservoice.com/forums/26465-desktop-version-windows-linux-mac-of-task-coach/suggestions/371680-save-presets-of-defined-filters-and-sortingBut I think instead of viewers controlling time for “due soon” I prefer the idea of a per-task override for due-soon timing. But that’s a separate issue.
