    yea i do this, my concern is that I end up with a HUGE file and it takes years to open. It would be nice if old completed tasks could be archived or at least deleted so that the file didn't get so bloated...

    seems like a no-brainer good idea to me. I would suggest also including an option to automatically delete completed tasks more than ___ days old. Anything to keep the file size manageable and taskcoach running quickly and smoothly sounds good.

    We will almost certainly NOT make duplicate tasks for recurrence, although I know some people may like that idea. Instead, to address this concern, we will consider creating some sort of log of completions, as I mention in my comment below.

    makes sense to me... there are definitely some inconsistencies with how recurring tasks are handled (I have a request open to fix how budgeted time is handled for recurring tasks).

    Only downside is that your task file grows larger automatically and there is no current way to automatically delete completed tasks after a certain period.

    i like this idea as long as it is an option that could be changed for each task. Perhaps an option in the preferences to set how tasks count days by default, and a box that could be checked/unchecked for tasks.
