this would be possible if User defined hot keys were implemented (http://taskcoach.uservoice.com/forums/26465-desktop-version-windows-linux-mac-of-task-coach/suggestions/289007-user-defined-hotkeys-keyboard-shortcuts-), esp. the comment using [meta]-[T] (for example) to create a new task or effort.
