Filter tasks based on parent task
I'd like to be able to create a task viewer and specify a parent task as filter criteria so that the viewer shows only children of that parent.
Use case is approximating the idea of an inbox for the GTD methodology. I created a top-level INBOX task and then wanted to create an always visible viewer that would show only the children tasks of that INBOX parent.

I think templates only work for top-level tasks.

No, the category filtering is global across all task viewers at the moment. We'd like to change that but haven't decided on an intuitive GUI for applying a specific category filter to a specific viewer.

How persistent is that search string? Looks like it is maintained across a TC exit/restart.

And there is no apparent easy way to create new items in the INBOX short of right-clicking on the parent and choosing a sub-task. (The use case is to make it easy to quickly add task in rapid succession, which will get organized later.)
Can I create a new template that specifies it is an INBOX sub-task?
Can I customize the viewer's toolbar such that it has just a "new task from template" button that uses my chosen template?
> The same could be done using a INBOX category...
Good point. Trying that...it doesn't seem to play well with how I'm using categories elsewhere. I have a category viewer pane (which, BTW, I'd rather see as a drop-down list box so it wouldn't take up the screen space), and what I select in it impacts what is seen in my INBOX task viewer. Can I set the INBOX task viewer to always show a specific category?
