Include alarm option in recurring tasks
For instance, I'm eating lunch. It's under my non-work time. I want to know when my hour is up.
See comments below, in order of time from bottom to top. But overall summary is: you can do what you are asking.

In 2012 Frank Niessink says "recurring tasks can have reminders and the reminders recur with the task..."
However in 2016, when I try to setup a recurring alarm (i.e. when I add a reminder to a recurring task) the reminder is systematically removed after the first time it shows up. -

Yes, Frank, that's superb, thanks for clarifying!
The question then becomes: what if someone decides to change the reminder time? Then it will change all the recurring ones, right?
Because it might be nice to essentially snooze in advance or to give yourself an extra reminder just this one time without changing what the recurring times will be. Whether or not this will ever be possible, it's important that users know what the results will be when they adjust things.
I shouldn't discuss it here, but I have a whole series of concerns about putting off planned tasks when they are set to recur…

Task Coach keeps track of the original reminder date and time (before snoozing) and uses that when recurring the task to set the new reminder date and time. Isn't that neat? ;-)

@ Frank,
Great, thanks for clarifying, but what about snooze? Doesn't snoozing change the reminder and then therefore change when the reminder will happen upon recurrence? And if you don't snooze, it turns off the reminder. That's why I assumed it wouldn't recur.

@Aaron, recurring tasks can have reminders and the reminders recur with the task...

I edited this request title. Reminders already exist. There is another request for adding audio alarm to reminders:
http://taskcoach.uservoice.com/forums/26465-desktop-version-windows-linux-mac-of-task-coach/suggestions/900153-can-you-offer-reminder-with-alarm-sound-To make your lunch-reminder effective, you'd want a recurring reminder, so just make a recurring task with a reminder.
However, do note that there is no reason for Task Coach to be the one-and-only program for everything. You could easily just use any timer or alarm program or any non-computer timer device to time your lunches. It doesn't have to be a Task Coach feature.
