Keep list of tasks at top when a task is marked Completed
I order my task list by Due date. This means of course that the next tasks to be done are at the top of the list.
When I mark a recurring task as Complete, the task list keeps focus on this task.
However this task is now far down the list of tasks, and so the window of the list of tasks is no longer showing the next tasks to do at the top of the list.
So every time I mark a task as Complete, the task list shifts focus away from the next tasks to be done, and I need to scroll the list back to the top each time.
Please keep the list of tasks at the top of the list even if a task is marked Complete. Maybe as an option in Settings.
I’m sorry, this is not doable the way Task Coach works. Recurring tasks are done by changing the dates when you mark complete and not keeping the completed state. So, when you mark a recurring task complete, it becomes a task with later dates and not complete.
There are a couple workarounds though:
(A) put the tasks as subtasks of an overall recurring task. Do NOT mark the subtasks as recurring, only the top-level task. I do this for a task called “daily”. When I mark a task complete in this case, it STAYS complete (and stays in the listing in the same place!) then, when I later mark the top-level task complete (or it automatically does when all the subtasks are done), THEN it resets the dates of all the subtasks for the next time.
That’s probably how you want it to work, but other much more clunky option is:
(B) don’t mark the task recurring but instead copy and paste the task to create a new version with a new date. That way, the original is retained with its original dates and completed status.

Due-date is not necessarily a reason for a task to be done next. Sometimes the next task to do might not have a due date or might not be the next due.
