Option for : % complete = timeSpent / budget
Makes more sense to me, instead of manually changing % complete each time.
Having spent 50% of the budget doesn’t mean the task is 50% complete. So I don’t think it makes sense to base the percentage complete on the percentage of the budget spent.

I don't care enough to ask for the request to be re-opened, but I don't think it was totally crazy.
I think Gustav's comment is confusing because it already uses completed subtasks.
But imagine a task which was "exercise for one hour" — that task would indeed be 50% complete after the budget was 50% spent.
It could be a simple dropdown menu to choose between the options for how %complete is calculated.On the other hand, for a task like my example, I see no reason to care about percent complete. Just look at the time.

Other variables could be used instead of budget such as completed subtasks and due date.
