add preference to change date format,to DD/MM/YYYY for example
The date format follows the language setting. Use English (UK) to get the European date format.

I am not quite sure that date following language is the best solution. For example I am Polish but I use English language settings (because I could not understand parts of the Polish translation). Yes, I know that in my case UK English instead of US English solves it, but:
a) it is not an obvoius solution for a user,
b) I suppose one could want a specific language/date combinatoion (for instance Spanish language with US date format could be in demand around N. Mex. / Calif.?) -

sorry but in main window I see american style MM/DD/YYYY. but in settings I see DD/MM/YYYY
will be nice to manualy control this
