    You have left! (?) (thinking…)
How important is this to you?

Well, they are very different. The WBS chart is much more sinthetic. For example let's say you have 5 levels (task 01 is level 1, subtask 1 is level 2, sub-subtask 1 is level, 3, and so on). Then you have several items of level 1 with several subitems of different levels.

So, in this case the tree view turns basically into a list (for which you need to scroll down to see the last subtasks of the last level 1 item, and by doing so you also loose the view of the 1st level 1 items that are at the top of the list. This in theory is possible to see all at a glance with the WBS chart (which in a sense is a "more real" tree view, and not the "tree view" usually used in listing directories, etc. as we are used to see in the computer environment, which is actually a hierarchical list and is far from a tree view).

Having said this, I created a file in TaskCoach with 5 tasks, each with 3 subtasks, 4 sub-subtasks and 3 sub-sub-subtasks, etc. and then I spend almost one hour trying to figure out how to manually create the WBS and I found it very difficult. Therefore I guess it is much more complicated to implement (because the soft would need to decide about spacing and spatial distribution of boxes, etc. and it is quite difficult to show all levels at one time). So I assume it is too much of a burden and there are almost no request for this, therefore I guess this is a good reason to decline this request :) Furthermore, if it is too complicated and nobody requests this, it would be too much to ask to the developers of a otherwise great open source, free software!

    Thanks for replying anyway. Cheers
