System Tray Icon Text Task File Name
Please could the text of the system tray icon be the name of the task file that's open. If I've got more than one file open, I can't tell which icon is for which file unless I restore the window.
1 voteAvailable in release 1.2.18.

Add font attributes to the tasks status parameter
Add font attributes (Bold, Underline, Strikethrough, Size, Italic,…) to the tasks status parameter setting (Edit/Preferences/Colours).
2 votesYou can choose bold, italic, and size already. It’s just a matter of choosing those sorts of fonts from the system’s font selector.
I also already opened a bug-report about the strike-through option and getting it to work on Mac and Linux (I think it works on Windows already). Underline is missing, but we’re not going to add that at this time and I doubt too many people would want that. If it were requested separately and got lots of votes, we’d consider it.
Thanks for your request.
Cheers,

Add another "completed Items" filter option - insert date.
Most companies have task review meetings. In these meetings it is commonplace to review completed tasks since the previous meeting. For the sake of argument, we will have a fortnightly meeting. The filter options available will either miss out tasks (only including the last week), or include ones already covered in the last meeting (monthly).
To cover these situations, would it be possible to have a date filter option which filters out completed items before a certain date? It would give complete flexibility for any situation, and would be enormously useful, certainly for me.

Inline editing of tasks
For users who works fast and don't use all the tabs of a task it would be nice to edit the task title inline, i.e. without open up a popup.
1 voteThis is already possible: click the subject of an item that is selected and a small edit box will appear that lets you change the subject.

iconize window
Instead of minimzing window when double clicking on the icon in the tray-> iconize it ie hide it from the taskbar
There is an issue at http://wiki.wxwidgets.org/WxTaskBarIcon so maybe thats possible by just chaning a few lines at the main-frame3 votesThis is already possible: turn on the “Hide window when minimized” setting in the preferences dialog.

Filter to see tasks from a few selected categories at once (task list view)
I would like to filter tasks from a few selected categories in the task list view to see them at once.
1 voteThis is already possible. Switch the “Filter on any category”/“Filter on all categories” option in the category viewer toolbar.

Change the colour of the background in the main window
I am both dyslexic and have sight problems. I can change the task windows background colour but the main window with its lists and toolbars stays blindingly white (ow!) despite other windows applications allowing me to do something with them. Can you add something to preferences to change this before I go blind? ;-)

add a button "Select task in Task view" in the "Edit Effort" box
I always look at the effort window to remember what i was doing, and have a hard time finding my task in the Task view to start monitoring it again. by the way, great tool already !
1 voteRelease 1.2.8 has “Start tracking effort” and “Stop effort tracking” buttons to the toolbar of the effort viewer. That way you can simply select the most recent effort record and hit the “Start tracking effort” button to resume tracking the last task.

Recommend adding a time tracker for each task
This product is great. I would recommend adding a time tracker that users can start and stop per task to track actual time in hours, minutes.

Zooming for the Calendar view
It would be nice to be able to see more tasks on the Calendar - currently we're stuck at one day only with the possiblity of dragging the scroll to the next days. It would make sense to zoom out to see more tasks coming in soon.

Resume Last Effort from Taskbar
It would be great if I could right-click on the Task Coach icon in the Windows taskbar and select an option to "Resume Last Effort". With hundreds of tasks, scrolling through the list is too tedious. But I often have to stop an effort when I leave my desk and want to resume that same effort when I return. Thanks!
5 votesThis is possible in release 1.2.10 (just released).

Start Task Coach window in a pre-defined location/size
Hello,
I use Task Coach in the left of my screen to be able to work and control my tasks, but every time I start it it is placed in the top left of my screen.
Would it be possible to configure it to start always in the same position in the screen?Thank you very much.
1 voteTask Coach should already remember its position and size. Please open a bug report for this at Sourceforge (you need to login to Sourceforge first before you can report a bug) and attach your TaskCoach.ini file to the bug report.
Thanks, Frank

Remember "New task" window size
I have I large screen resolution, so that I would see every tab in this window. Unfortunately it doesn't store the last size, so that I have to resize it every time after opening it again. I need to do that because i often add noted by creation and need to go to the notes tab on the right.
2 votesRecent versions of Task Coach do this.

Keyboard Shortcut for search
If there are many tasks the serach is very usable to find a special task. It would be nice if you can set the focus to the search field with e.g. Ctrl-F so you do not have to use the mouse for this.
6 votesRelease 1.2.9 has a Ctrl-F shortcut.

Task view: show only time (instead of date+time) for TODAY's entries
I feel that it would be convenient if only time is shown for today's entires in the task view. This would allow me to keep column size for due/start dates small.
1 voteMarking this complete as the purpose was more clear and smaller column, and this is now fixed in the new v 1.3.21 release where today’s tasks will be marked “today” instead of the full date.
Cheers.

Enable Timer-Rounding
I suggest to give the user the option to make the timer round up the minutes to previously selected interval once I stop it. This is helpful because I do not charge by the minute but by the starting hour and I use TaskCoach mainly to collect the hours I have to bill my clients.
11 votesEffort viewers allow for rounding effort to 1, 5, 6, 10, 15, 20, 30 or 60 minutes, starting with release 1.3.2.

Change data directly from list of task
Would be nice to be able to change dates for instance directly from the list.
And also color, you double click and there is something like the toggle category but for color1 voteThis is already possible, just click on data in columns and hit enter when done.
If you really want to change things like color without opening another window, vote for this:

Hide completed tasks older than X days
Instead of only having just the options to show or hide all completed tasks, add a drop down arrow next to the icon that allows you to also hide tasks older than 1, 5, or 7, days or a custom number of days. I would use this in weekly one on one discussions with my supervisor. Desperately need it please!
10 votesRelease 1.2.11 allows you hide completed days older than today, yesterday, etc.
