  2. ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE:

I need a field for location where work is to be done & ability to sort, select on it, etc. For anyone who does work in more than one place location is a key organizing criterion.

  3. On the task viewer, when the user switches from "Tree of Tasks" to "List of Tasks", there should be an option (maybe a checkbox) to hide root tasks that have children.
I consider root tasks as something that will only be accomplished when all children are completed. If you have a lot of tasks, when you are on "List of Tasks" mode, a lot of "garbage" appears with root tasks that I don't want to see because they are not my current focus.

In another words, if a task has subtasks open, I should be able to hide it, until…

  4. I would be great if there where a free text field for each task. The text field is perfect to use if one have to send regular status reports to 3rd person. This text field should also be in the "front page" column view so it could be exported.

  6. Currently, in the weekly calendar, the first displayed date is always Monday. Personally, I don't care about tasks that happened in the past. When I'm in the weekly view, I'm primarily concerned with viewing tasks that will occur during the next seven days. Therefore, I'd like to have the option to make the current date the first date displayed. This would allow the user to see all events coming up in the next seven days, without having to scroll the view to the following week and without having to be distracted by old tasks.

  11. I would like to have some type of icon or indicator in the Tasks window to indicate that a filter has been applied. I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out why certain tasks weren't showing up and then I finally realized it was because I had a filter applied in the Categories window. When you apply a filter in Categories, it indicates that a filter has been applied in the status bar for that window, but the task windows don't have any such indication. I would like to see it in the status bar, as well as…

DONE. v. 1.3.21 has customizable toolbars and the “clear all filters” menu item is now a toolbar button which is present by default. When no filters are on, this will be grayed out, so you can quickly see whether filters are active!

    Cheers,
    Aaron

  12. I would like to be able to write for each task my estimated time it takes to fullfill the task. So when I have about an hour time I can search for task that take 60 minutes or less, and do then right away. To do --> done

  13. I suggest you create a feature that lets you adjust the position of a task by being able to drag and drop. This idea is split out from the "Better control over task order" which contains many different suggestions.

  15. I would like to have an option for a task that allows its progress to be automatically calculated based on the progress of subtasks.

For this to be accomplished, it would be necessary to tells what importance (in percentage) each subtask has on the main task.

For example, let's assume I have a main task (Task1) with 2 subtasks (TaskA and TaskB). I tell the software that TaskA has 75% of importance and TaskB has 25%. When I put the progress of TaskA in 50% and 10% of TaskB, the Task1 should display 40% (50% * 75% + 10% *…

  16. If this could be a field that is emailed as well, it would be VERY useful. While Task Coach is really designed for managing one individual's tasks, I am finding it useful to manage my direct reports, but it takes a lot of manual effort to do so the way it works now. Even so, it is still far better than doing it entirely manually.

  19. Per GTD principles, this filter (applied to a task list view) would show the highest priority task from each project. (How you define a project is another matter. Any set of adjacent non-composite tasks?)

Please don’t use all caps, it means you’re shouting.

Also, this is already possible. Start tracking the first tasks normally. Then, right-click the second task and use “New effort” to create a effort for that second task. If you don’t enter a stop time, you’ll be tracking two tasks at a time.

    Cheers, Frank
