  3. It should be possible to define a default setting for data-export. I know that every visible column is exported but in my "standard view" I don't want to have all the columns which I would like to export. Changing the view for every export is quite annoying.

You can open multiple viewers of the same type. So, open another task viewer, put it in the right settings, rename it (using View→Rename viewer) e.g. “Tasks for export” and you’re done. You can even close the viewer after export because Task Coach remembers settings for closed viewers.

  4. After I complete a task, the completed task remains highlighted but it does not have focus. So I can't just use the arrow keys to highlight the next task I want to address. I have to use the mouse to click on a task in the list first. I'd like to see the focus stay somewhere in the task list.

As for where to put the focus, It might make most sense to focus on the next task in the list rather than following the completed task since it's unlikely the user needs to interact with that task any further.

    Hi Pablo,

This is already possible: put the task viewer in list mode using the drop down box in the toolbar of the task viewer and then hide composite tasks using the View→ Filter → Hide composite tasks menu item.

    Cheers, Frank

  9. The colored circles for almost-due and completed tasks are indistinguishable except upon very close scrutiny. I suspect other colorblind users would have similar problems. Making either (but not both) the green or amber circles a deeper, more saturated color would improve recognition. Making the circles change color with the selected text color would be another option, though probably harder to implement.

Approximately 10% of males are at least partially colorblind! Decreased ability to distinguish red and green (and oranges) due to lowered red sensitivity is one of the most common types. Colors that are desaturated or very close in brightness…

  10. I would like to be able to get a breakdown of the time I have worked on various tasks. And since I create a "root" task for each client, I could see how much time to bill :)

  12. Currently the day and date scroll off the view panel when scrolling tasks. It would be more useful if only the tasks scrolled.

  14. I like the suggestions of storing the Task database file on a remote location, but I also would like to merely specify where to store it locally. I boot to different OS/versions in the same box, and would choose a disk or storage location that is accessible to me regardless of which Login I am using.

  15. I find it useful to have multiple subject types; for example, location (Home, Work, Car, Laptop, etc), who for (Mom, Wife, Friend, Business, etc), and disposition (dislike, like, enjoy [to vary activities throughout a work period]). Right now I do this through symbols in front, but it gets messy. It would be nice if there was a way to set up multiple subject fields for these different contexts.

  16. If you have many remainders it will much better, if the default "snooze time" is not "no snooze". If the default snooze time is for example 18 hours, then you can't forgot an remainder by too fast clicking on the ok button.

  18. I used to update my tasks with their last status at the beginning of the description field. So a quick look on the tasks browser show me a good overview of my tasks status.
But when description are getting longer and longer, browsing becomes a nightmare even if I enable the popup descriptions.
Is it possible to set a maximum height of the description aera, let say 4 lines of text ?
Frank had proposed : "I do see one other option and that is to teach the widget that displays the task tree to put long texts in a…

  19. Small suggestion:
    - is it possible to name the window with the subject of the task (exemple for T1: Edit task T1), useful in the window menu to select the right task when many are opened?
    - is it possible to name the task panel with full task path like in tasks list (exemple for MainT including SubT: MainT -> SubT), useful when a subject of a subtask is generic to many main tasks?
    Many thanks.

  20. Is it possible to add a tasktype en contactsname when adding to ta task or subtask.

    Tasktypes are:
    -Telephone
    -Mail
    -Meeting
    -Write
    -Design
    -Check

    -etc.

With an option to filter on contacts and/or tasktype you can plan your contacts what to discuss and see for the day what kind of activity (like designing) you to do list consists of.
