Place a category dropdown on the task creation page
When creating a new task, I frequently forget to page over to the category screen to assign the category. There should be a category dropdown selection box on the task creation page to avoid this from happeneing. Its important enough to include on the main page. Another solution (or complementary) would be to automatically assign the task to the category that is selected for filter.

Configurable first day of the week
Task Coach assumes that Monday is the first day of the week for the
purposes of showing "Effort per week". Our work week actually starts
Sunday & ends Saturday. It'd be nice if one could configure the first day
of the week.26 votesThis is available in release 1.3.10.

How about a field for responsible personel?
An additional field to input the name of the responsible
3 votesYou can easily do this right now, using categories. Simply create a category Person and a subcategory for each person you need to assign tasks to, e.g. Person→Mary, Person→Joe, etc.

Add knob "Hide group tasks" on the tasks panel.
- if i want to see only sabtasks - ie realtasks, not virtual.
3 votesThis is already possible. Put the task viewer in list mode (using the drop down on the task viewer’s toolbar) and then hide composite tasks (view→filter→hide composite tasks).

Shortcut for inline subject text editing on selected task
It would be nice to be able to change subject text inline by hitting something line F2 on selected task. Now it is only possible by clicking twice on it with mouse.

Export complete effort task list in cvs format
Export complete effort task list in cvs format
1 voteThis is already possible. If you want to export more columns, just make them visible before exporting. If you want to export effort for one task, use the “effort viewer for one task”. Cheers, Frank

Button to hide/unhide active tasks
Useful if you want to create a list with completed task. There was already a filter with this option.
In the 0.76 version has been removed but I didn't find that a silly option.2 votesSee release 0.76.1.

Change cursor focus in list view when completing a task
I use list view and noticed that when I complete a task, the cursor focus follows the completed task to the bottom of my list. It would make more sense if the cursor focus went to the top of the list when completing a task, or the next incomplete task that follows the task just completed.
3 votesFor me, this works, cursor stay in the same place in the list.

One window for the task
I would like to have all important information about the task in one window. Now there are many separated windows like Description, Dates, Progress.. I would like to have the contain of these windows in one window at least: Description, Dates, Progress, Budget.
It safe many clicks and get better overview.4 votesYou can do this mostly. For each tab in the editor, you can drag it to different parts of the window to create multiple panes that are shown at once. It works like the way different viewers can be shown at once in the main Task Coach window.
And your settings will be saved as the default for the future. -

Usability enhancements for adding Efforts
It would be very useful that TaskCoach could be used as a punch-in clock for registering efforts, but it's pretty cumbersome to do it now because there are no shortcuts, and it takes so many clicks and inputs to create an Effort. By assigning shortcuts to New Effort and to Stop Tracking Effort, and by fine-tuning the default values for Start and Stop time, this should be easy to fix. The default value for Start time should probably be equal to the last Stop time, and the default value for stop should be Now (but the Stop checkbox should be…

Show/hide main window by one/double left click on system tray.
Also I would like to show/hide on one/double left click on system tray.
Currently it shows up by left double click on system tray. And hiding will be a good feature for easy use. No more mouse movements to hide the main window after quick view of task list from system tray.

Filter to hide / unhide folders so only Tasks appear in list
Folders and tasks are intermingled, with no way that I can find to separate them. Folders are not actionable, and I don't need to see them except when adding tasks. It would be great to be able to filter out folders so only tasks display.
1 voteThis is possible, but you have to put the task viewer in list mode (using the drop down on the task viewer toolbar) and then turn on the filter: View→Filter→Hide tasks that are→Composite

Add "involved people" field
To better manage job tasks would be very useful to list who are the other people involved in the task (requested by; owner; other involved people)

Port to Mobile Phone to Sync tasks
I would like to have the ability to sync my tasks to my phone so I could carry my tasks around with me with my phone.
1 voteIf you have an iPhone you can already to that (look for Task Coach in the AppStore). If you have another type of phone this is a duplicate (look in the “other feature requests”).

Add "check update" and "install" options
Task Coach is a dynamic project. There are many delivery versions. A "check update" and a "download and install latest version" options somewhere in main menu bar may be very useful.

Speed when filtering task by category
I used Task Coach for a couple of weeks now, and the data is becoming bigger every day (300 tasks, 43 categories, 50 notes). When I click on a category in the Category View, it sometimes takes a couple of seconds before I see the subset tasks for that category.
0 votesI’ll mark this one completed then (to give you back your vote) .
