Add (Auto)archiving Feature
After several months of using Task Coach, my task file grew to about 1k tasks. It has a significant impact on performance. I don't want to delete old completed tasks, as they may contain notes I would like to read any time in the future. However, the tasks might be moved to another task file, let's call it archive. This action could either be automatic (tasks completed more than X days) or triggered by a menu item, and driven by a wizard (select type of tasks, their age, file to archive to). Hope this makes sense to someone else as well.
see my comment below. Everything except the auto- part is already possible.

I agree with this request , automate this process avoid a lot of overheading controling the taskcoach.
I'm using it a less of month and I'm already felling some problem, not with performance, but for example when I need to correct a effort to another task, when open the task tree there show all finished task too.. the tree becomes huge... the auto archive will minimize this problem .
(in my case, the correct request should be "show only the 'not finished' task"... but this request , auto-archive, will solve two or more problems instead one, for me). -

it is a good idea to like put a archive for Task (when you click on it that task go to a folder archive ) as like as trello.com

I know everything except the auto is possible and that's how I'm doing it at the moment :-) However, the auto part is the crucial part of this request, as it would eliminate the time/effort overhead of doing it manually.

An auto-archiving is a reaonable request, but the moving to another file is already possible.
Select the tasks you want to archive and choose File > Save Selection…
That will export the tasks to a new .tsk file, and you can then delete them from your main file without losing information.
There's another request for merging the export so you can keep archives all combined more easily: http://taskcoach.uservoice.com/forums/26465-desktop-version-windows-linux-mac-of-task-coach/suggestions/457886-ability-to-move-selected-tasks-to-a-different-tsk
Although, note that you can already merge files after they have been separately exported.
So everything except the automatic part is already possible here.

I also have the same problem. A huge file with huge impact on performance. I also have project that i've started over than a year ago and they keep open. So i can't delete its tasks.
The archive for completed actions would be very good. Better more if the structure of tasks is maintained.
Thanks.
