  1. By now, you need to insert time in the specified format mm:ss.
It would be much faster without the obligatory ":" e.g. on the NumPad.
Afert 4 Numbers were inserted, it could automatically insert an ":" as third character.

We did not do exactly this, but the new v. 1.3.21 has a new date/time picker. In this, you can simply type “.” (a period) to move from hours to minutes (and back). So you can enter a time entirely on the NumPad, for example 12.35 and it will work.

    Cheers,
    Aaron

  2. Each day you can then select some tasks you want to work with out of all at least many different categories. Which usually is somehow difficult to overview. I used to use a new category 'Today' for that which is than assigned to the tasks I want to work on today. But it is somhow time-consuming to switch the categories of some tasks to and from 'today' each time.
For example you shouldn't work on more then 5 tasks a day. The next day this 5 tasks are different. So you get a dialog presented if you want to work…

  3. The calendar view is great!! I love seeing everything arranged visually on the calendar.

It would be great if it was possible to drag-and-drop a date to another cell in the calendar, and have that date updated within the task. Right now it looks like you've got to double-click on the task, then click on the 'dates' tab, then click on the datepicker widget, then remember where you wanted to move it to, then select that date, etc.

    Thanks!

This is now possible. Please add further requests or bug reports if you have any trouble.

Note: the behavior currently changes both planned and due dates. Perhaps this should be a preference setting though…

  4. Currently tasks can be filtered to be shown if they are due by the end of the day, tomorrow, week, work week, month and year. It would be beneficial to have a rolling filter, say 7 days from today, so that when you come to the end of the week, the tasks due early in the next week are not a surprise when you come back after the weekend. Otherwise you need to change the filter to see what is coming up.

The number of days could be user defined or the next 7, 14, 30, 60 and 356 days…

  5. I think it would be great if you could set tasks to display a recurring reminder (for example a daily reminder or each time I open Task Coach).

  7. I work and play on both Ubuntu and WinDoze platforms. I'd like to put Task Coach on a thumb drive, and to be able to access and manage my task list from either platform.

If you have Task Coach installed on both systems you can access the task file from both systems. If you also want to install Task Coach on the thumbdrive, that’s possible. Just install both a Windows version (preferably the PortableApps version) and a Linux version. You’ll have to install them to different folders of course.

  8. i just wanted to say a huge thanks for the great software! i am busy using it to develop my life plan... which so far consists of fiddling around with all the task coach settings :-P

now if you could somehow figure out how to integrate with freemind, my life would be complete... ;-)

    thanks!

There is an option on the calendar viewer toolbar to only show tasks that have a due date. Showing reminders is not possible at the moment. Please create another, more specific, feature request for that. In general, don’t combine multiple features in one request, it makes it hard to track them. Thanks, Frank

  11. Vague title, I know: but assume you set "Hour of end of work day" to 17:00, and "Minutes between task start/end times" to 30 minutes. If I use the drop list to choose a due time, I cannot choose the hour where the workday ends; the latest is 16:30. I think there should be a "less than or equal" comparison, not a "strict less than".

  12. When I create a subtask under a task, I'd like for it to be assigned the category (especially) and priority of the parent task.

Let's say I have a task, "repair laptop," with a number of subtasks that I want to ensure get done, in order. This is a "priority 2" task and falls under my "equipment maintenance" category. I crank out my list, creating subtask after subtask, but when I'm done I have a bunch of priority 0 subtasks with no category.

  13. It will be cool to see all the current month in the calendar view ! Actually I need to use scrolling (left and right). The feature could give the ability to choose a scale (10% step) and a fit view ?

  15. I'd like to be able to create a task viewer and specify a parent task as filter criteria so that the viewer shows only children of that parent.

Use case is approximating the idea of an inbox for the GTD methodology. I created a top-level INBOX task and then wanted to create an always visible viewer that would show only the children tasks of that INBOX parent.

  16. Currently, in the weekly calendar, the first displayed date is always Monday. Personally, I don't care about tasks that happened in the past. When I'm in the weekly view, I'm primarily concerned with viewing tasks that will occur during the next seven days. Therefore, I'd like to have the option to make the current date the first date displayed. This would allow the user to see all events coming up in the next seven days, without having to scroll the view to the following week and without having to be distracted by old tasks.

  17. When I stop the clock with the right mouse button out of the task bar I would like a small window to open where I can write a comment... this would save time having to click through the task to be able to comment on the time slot I was working on.

Done! In v. 1.3.21 toolbars are customizable, and there are new buttons for hiding and showing every task state. Additionally, shift-click on these new tools will automatically hide all OTHER states and show only the one clicked!

    Cheers,
    Aaron

  20. 1.1 reminders do not work when program is minimized / in tray. And reminder windiw pops up only when I open application window. It's useless this way.
