drag and drop to change dates in calendar view
The calendar view is great!! I love seeing everything arranged visually on the calendar.
It would be great if it was possible to drag-and-drop a date to another cell in the calendar, and have that date updated within the task. Right now it looks like you've got to double-click on the task, then click on the 'dates' tab, then click on the datepicker widget, then remember where you wanted to move it to, then select that date, etc.
Thanks!
5 votesThis is now possible. Please add further requests or bug reports if you have any trouble.
Note: the behavior currently changes both planned and due dates. Perhaps this should be a preference setting though…

Hide completed tasks older than X days
Instead of only having just the options to show or hide all completed tasks, add a drop down arrow next to the icon that allows you to also hide tasks older than 1, 5, or 7, days or a custom number of days. I would use this in weekly one on one discussions with my supervisor. Desperately need it please!
10 votesRelease 1.2.11 allows you hide completed days older than today, yesterday, etc.

Recurring Daily Reminder
I think it would be great if you could set tasks to display a recurring reminder (for example a daily reminder or each time I open Task Coach).
5 votesThis should work in release 1.2.24.

Access Task Coach Thumbdrive Installation from both Ubuntu and WinDose
I work and play on both Ubuntu and WinDoze platforms. I'd like to put Task Coach on a thumb drive, and to be able to access and manage my task list from either platform.
3 votesIf you have Task Coach installed on both systems you can access the task file from both systems. If you also want to install Task Coach on the thumbdrive, that’s possible. Just install both a Windows version (preferably the PortableApps version) and a Linux version. You’ll have to install them to different folders of course.

Enable Timer-Rounding
I suggest to give the user the option to make the timer round up the minutes to previously selected interval once I stop it. This is helpful because I do not charge by the minute but by the starting hour and I use TaskCoach mainly to collect the hours I have to bill my clients.
11 votesEffort viewers allow for rounding effort to 1, 5, 6, 10, 15, 20, 30 or 60 minutes, starting with release 1.3.2.

Start and due times dropbox include "Hour of end of work day"
Vague title, I know: but assume you set "Hour of end of work day" to 17:00, and "Minutes between task start/end times" to 30 minutes. If I use the drop list to choose a due time, I cannot choose the hour where the workday ends; the latest is 16:30. I think there should be a "less than or equal" comparison, not a "strict less than".
1 voteThis is a bug. It’s fixed in release 1.2.2.

filter tasks due before end the next 7 days or 30 days
Currently tasks can be filtered to be shown if they are due by the end of the day, tomorrow, week, work week, month and year. It would be beneficial to have a rolling filter, say 7 days from today, so that when you come to the end of the week, the tasks due early in the next week are not a surprise when you come back after the weekend. Otherwise you need to change the filter to see what is coming up.
The number of days could be user defined or the next 7, 14, 30, 60 and 356 days…
7 votesAvailable in release 1.2.12.

Μonthly calendar
In the monthly calendar I would like to see only due date or only reminder date.
can this be done somehow3 votesThere is an option on the calendar viewer toolbar to only show tasks that have a due date. Showing reminders is not possible at the moment. Please create another, more specific, feature request for that. In general, don’t combine multiple features in one request, it makes it hard to track them. Thanks, Frank

Faster access to filter menu options
It would be great to have faster access to the filter menu options via icons in the toolbar!
3 votesDone! In v. 1.3.21 toolbars are customizable, and there are new buttons for hiding and showing every task state. Additionally, shift-click on these new tools will automatically hide all OTHER states and show only the one clicked!
Cheers,

Categories filter with AND instead of OR
I would like to say: show me only the tasks that are in each of the selected categories - like a facade-search. At the moment all task that are at least in one of the selected categories are displayed.
3 votesThis is already possible. Use the dropdown menu on the category viewer toolbar. You may have to maximize the category viewer briefly to make the menu visible.

Filter tasks based on parent task
I'd like to be able to create a task viewer and specify a parent task as filter criteria so that the viewer shows only children of that parent.
Use case is approximating the idea of an inbox for the GTD methodology. I created a top-level INBOX task and then wanted to create an always visible viewer that would show only the children tasks of that INBOX parent.

calendar: show all hours instead of 8-17
When viewing your day in the calendar, it shows only the hours from 8 till 17. Some tasks are thus not shown when I try to get a daily overview. It would be nice if the whole day was shown, or to have an option to select the hours ourself.
2 votesYou can change the start and end hours of the day in the preferences (Features tab).

Able to add a comment when I stop the clock a task
When I stop the clock with the right mouse button out of the task bar I would like a small window to open where I can write a comment... this would save time having to click through the task to be able to comment on the time slot I was working on.
3 votesYou can open the last effort record in the effort viewer and your comments to the effort record’s description.

Export as CSV more field such as the description and categories
Hi,
The function export is limited to the title. Would be good if the description, categories are added as optional during the "export" function.1 voteTask Coach exports whatever is visible in the active viewer. To export descriptions, make the description column visible and then export.

change order of tabs
This is already possible, since I changed it inadvertently, but find myself unable to change it back..
I would like to change the order of the tabs (description, effort etc) in 'Edit task'. I can drag the tabs, but am unable to save this.2 votes -
Subtask inherits parent task's properties
When I create a subtask under a task, I'd like for it to be assigned the category (especially) and priority of the parent task.
Let's say I have a task, "repair laptop," with a number of subtasks that I want to ensure get done, in order. This is a "priority 2" task and falls under my "equipment maintenance" category. I crank out my list, creating subtask after subtask, but when I'm done I have a bunch of priority 0 subtasks with no category.
3 votesThis is already the case. Make the “total” columns visible, e.g. “overall priority” and “overall categories”.

add filter "hide composite tasks" for calendar view
the checkbox "hide composite tasks" is disabled for calendar view. It would, however, be very useful if one wants to see only the concrete small tasks to do for each day.
3 votesThis will be possible in the next 1.1 release.
