  1. I usually keep TaskCoach minimized to my system tray. When I have overdue tasks, TaskCoach alerts me once every day by creating and flashing a taskbar button. Instead, I would rather have an option for TaskCoach to alert me in the system tray (perhaps with an exclamation point icon superimposed on the TaskCoach icon), or even the option to turn off these alerts completely (I'll just go look at TaskCoach when I have time to work on tasks).

  4. It would motivate me to see my finished tasks of the day specially marked but on the same position in the list. They should disappear the next day automatically.
To display all finished tasks don't work for me for this purpose. It overstuffs the list.
    Thanks for developing TaskCoach,
    Michael

  5. You have menus to activate previous and next viewers. It would be better to have a cascading menu that listed all the created custom viewers and let you directly select one.

  7. I have 3 categories with each lots of tasks and subtasks. To order them, I click on subject and then sort to category, which works fine. But then if I open a task it goes to the bottom of the subject list instead of staying in alphabetical order. It should stay where it was.

  8. Add option to tracking mechanism to automatically stop tracking when time has passed configured working hour and restart tracking again on next morning when configured workinghour has passed. And an option to overrule above option for configurable time when working late.

  10. Have category templates as separate from task templates. Task templates can inherit category templates for proper classification.
This would allow several time management methods such as GTD to be encoded as cateogy templates.

  11. The semantics of merge is not clear.

When are the task/category entries from two files Combined and when are these entries duplicated?

Assume a taskfile with two tasks "one" and "two "and a category called "mine". Task one has category mine. Save this file as "foo.tsk".
Now add another category called "yours" and delete the category mine. Let task two have category yours. Save this as file "boo.tsk". Now when these files are merged, you do get two categories but the task categories are as per the last mreged file. The category list for same named task should be joined…

  12. It would be great to be able to change the background or the tabs colours within the calendar. The black-grey-white combination gives quite a 'dark' look, mainly while switching to 'month-vertical' view, the one I use the most. Thanks in advance.

  13. While working with complex tasks it would be great to see the sequence of prerequisites both in the task list and calendar. In the task list I see no difference between list or tree view (could be it's a bug), complex tasks are not linked with the prerequisite ones. In the calendar the 1-2 weeks horizontal view gives you a great overview from the task-due-time line, but prerequisites are not linked on a main task-line. Instead they appear in alphabetical order with no relation at all. It would be great to see them stick together. Thanks a lot!

  14. Now you have to enter a task to edit its fields/properties. It would be great to just double click on one of the task's fields (icon, date, priority, etc.) - now, since a few versions ago it works for subject field.

  15. First thanks for providing this--it is a great tool!
I would like to see a list of subtasks for a main task. I use the Main task to hold many items which are subtasks. Forexample I have one task for Reading Books and each book I'm interested in is a subtask. I would like to see Reading Books as a task and then click on a view to see all the related subtasks (these are not prereqs since there is no particular order required.) Another Task I have is Writing projects. Over time Writing Projects will graduate to a Task…

  20. In mutually exclusive mode, having to click back on the parent category in order to deselect all subcategories slows down navigation. It would be nice if, in this mode, it were possible to deselect a selected subcategory by clicking its check box again. Presently you either have to select another subcategory or click on (and then off) the parent category.
