The original request mixed mention of days and mention of more than 90 hours. The current version now supports an unlimited number of hours. This request is now going to be just for specially marking days (even though you can calculate any number of days by entering the hour amount).
If you do not care about this, please remove your votes. The more-than-90 hour issue is complete.
Thanks
An error occurred while saving the comment Do you want to input a larger number of hours or would you like to specify a number of days, or both maybe?

An error occurred while saving the comment I'd like this as well. Since we're cross platform and packaging is different for each platform, this may be quite some work though. Maybe we should tackle this one platform at a time and see what we can do on Windows first (as it seems to be the most used among Task Coach users).

An error occurred while saving the comment So, what would the square task viewer show when displaying budget and while being limited to a week? I guess the week-filter would only apply to time spent, right?

An error occurred while saving the comment I'm not sure what you mean here. What is "change category"? Do you mean assigning a task or note to a category? Or did you mean filtering on a category? Also, please don't assume we know how other software works. I don't use Thunderbird, for example.

An error occurred while saving the comment It's been a while since I used mutt. What are these "scripts" supposed to do? What is keeping you from writing them yourself?

An error occurred while saving the comment @tpso, if you want to submit a patch, I suggest you check out the code (trunk) and start in taskcoachlib/gui/dialog/editor.py, class EffortEditBook.
Cheers, Frank

An error occurred while saving the comment Here's a link to an XSL stylesheet that might help to convert Freemind mindmaps into a Task Coach file: http://tandlers.de/peter/blog/2008/06/convert-freemind-maps-to-task-coach.html

Note: there is a PPA for Ubuntu-based systems, but you have to add it to your system.
Just add “ppa:taskcoach-developers/ppa” to your sources with synaptic or muon or with command-line.
See here for more information:
https://launchpad.net/~taskcoach-developers/+archive/ppaBut I agree it would be nice to get Task Coach fully listed in the normal packages and software centers…
An error occurred while saving the comment It may help if you would ask the maintainers of those distributions to work with us too.

An error occurred while saving the comment Please clarify:
- What do you mean with "(1) the checked/selected subcategory should be visible". Visible where?
- How do (1) and (2) help to prevent the "unintentionally attaching" of subcategories? To clarify the unintentionally attaching of categories: Task Coach assumes that if you check categories in the category viewer to limit the tasks and notes shown, that new tasks should belong to those categories as well.

An error occurred while saving the comment When I added Twitter notifications to our automated release process, I thought about this. However, it's either easy to forget that Task Coach is sending tweets or it would be annoying because Task Coach would constantly ask for permission ("Do you really want to tweet this?"). If the tweeting would be silent it could lead to leakage of sensitive information ("Write proposal for super client X", "Interview with prospective buyer Y", etc.). Any suggestion how to deal with that?

The current release has this partly implemented.
The way it works, when parents are collapsed, it will show due dates from subtasks in parentheses in appropriate columns (other dates too).
But we haven’t figured out the best options for whether to change the icon color or text color of parents based on subtasks. Should just the icon change? Just the text? Only date-related text? When collapsed only or all the time?
Please share any suggestions below in comments. What do you all think is the best way this should work?
An error occurred while saving the comment Note that sorting of tasks by due date does take the due dates of sub tasks into account. One solution would be to add another column (e.g. "nearest due date"), but then we would need to add similar columns for start date and completion date as well. We already have a lot of columns, so I'm a bit reluctant about that solution. Do you another suggestion, maybe?

When the calendar viewer has matured sufficiently the timeline viewer will be removed.
