effort : warning after an envisaged time spent (timer with alarm for efforts)
It could be great to be able to enter an envisaged time when beginning an effort. An alarm will tell us when the time is spent.
Could prevent spending too much time on a task or forgetting switching between efforts.7 votes -
Full Address book / contacts list
It would be useful to get adress book with option to choose company/person, +fields for "adress","tel","fax" & fields for free designing. Adress book schould be programmed as a new Viewer. Also there should be an opportunity to select several companies/persons for each Subject :)

alternate background color slightly in task view
It'd be easier to see where each task starts and ends (especially if the heights vary) if the background color varied slightly with alternating tasks. It's a pretty common thing. White background, light grey or blue background, white background, etc.

Task / Category Cloning
I would like to be able to clone tasks and categories so that a given task or category can appear in multiple places within its respective tree. This would be similar to symbolic links in Linux. Deleting one instance of a task or category would not affect other instances. However, there should be some type of icon to indicate that a task or category has other instances within the tree.

include dependancy between tasks
there are tasks that depend on others that might be invisible until the completion of dependencies
7 votesAdminAaron Wolf (Admin, Task Coach) respondedWhat does this entail? What do you want differently?
I suggested an iconized column view here:
https://taskcoach.uservoice.com/forums/26465-desktop-version-windows-linux-mac-of-task-coach/suggestions/3071426-add-icon-only-iconized-option-for-most-columnsThen hovering over the indicator would identify the tasks in question, and this would help make it easier to quickly see that there are dependents or prereqs.
Please clarify soon. Otherwise, I’m going to close this request, because I don’t understand it.

I would like to have a font small in the lines of the Calendar. Thanks
I would like to have a small font in the lines of the Calendar. Thanks
4 votesAdminAaron Wolf (Admin, Task Coach) respondedI’m guessing this means you want the task items to be listed with smaller font so you can see more tasks at once in the calendar view. Is that right?

Import tasks from ical format
The possibility to import tasks via *.ics or even a textfile would be extremely helpful. (To synchronize it e.g. with the calendar)

Use Calendar for Daily plan
It would be nice, to have the possibility to make a day plan with the calendar. (its almost there) Therefore, you need to set the time frame and things like Lunch break a.s.o.. The timeline then should not be horizontal, but vertical.

to add shortcuts to the navigation of the tasks and categories
It would be great to add shorcuts for the all the options of TaskCoach. One shortcut that will be great to implement is to allow to select the different tasks with a shortcut. Right now I guess that the only way to do that is by clicking over the task list and then use the up and down arrows to move your way. It is the same for the categories. Ctrl+page down and Ctrl+page up just change the focus from the panel but doesn´t set the focus on the tasks...

Addition of sounds to task completion
I think there should be some sound added when a task is completed. Being part of the millenials I find myself enjoying when I receive instant praise for a job well done and nothing is quite as good as hearing some congratulatory music when I level up or whatever in a game. This could add some fun to the program

In-line spell-checking for subjects and descriptions
Currently, the Mac spell-checking works (but has been turned off for Mountain Lion because of some bug), but isn't perfect (it doesn't highlight misspellings though it does offer corrections).
On Windows and Linux, there is no spell checking.

Add revenue property to category
I suggest add revenue property to category (appliest to all tasks in category) in addition to present possiblity to set revenue for task (applies to all subtasks)

Add a button to insert date/time in comments/notes
Perhaps with a shortcut key as well.
30 votesThis should be easy enough, and now that we have customizable toolbars, we will look into adding extra tools as options.

Allow the selection of different/smaller icons/fonts
Firstly - nice app, thanks.
I find the task icons a little large - can there be a smaller icon to choose from perhaps with a smaller font to squeeze more in a smaller space?2 votes -
Add more options for how TaskCoach alerts me when tasks are overdue
I usually keep TaskCoach minimized to my system tray. When I have overdue tasks, TaskCoach alerts me once every day by creating and flashing a taskbar button. Instead, I would rather have an option for TaskCoach to alert me in the system tray (perhaps with an exclamation point icon superimposed on the TaskCoach icon), or even the option to turn off these alerts completely (I'll just go look at TaskCoach when I have time to work on tasks).

Separate category selection and other filtering/sorting per viewer
With multiple viewers, give each viewer control over the categories shown.
Other preferences could also be moved to per-view, such as number of days for "due soon", but the category is my main desire.
7 votesThis is an important request, and I think it goes hand-in-hand with this:
http://taskcoach.uservoice.com/forums/26465-desktop-version-windows-linux-mac-of-task-coach/suggestions/371680-save-presets-of-defined-filters-and-sortingBut I think instead of viewers controlling time for “due soon” I prefer the idea of a per-task override for due-soon timing. But that’s a separate issue.
