Time for a task
Is it possible to save somewere the expected time to complete a task and the actual time taken to do it ?
That would be great for planned tasks and to sort them by time?3 votesYes, it’s called budget. See the Budget tab in the task edit dialog.

Allow customisation of marking tasks completed.
At present, if all subtasks are completed the parent task is also marked complete. Make this behaviour optional - at present, I have to add an extra subtask 'complete' to each large project to make sure it doesn't fall off my to-do list by accident.

Sync/Export in "ToDo.txt" format...
...as described by Gina Trapani in https://github.com/ginatrapani/todo.txt-cli/wiki/The-Todo.txt-Format
I don't despair yet of having my Blackberry-tablet-desktop sync'ed, but I don't like much web/mail sync, neither do I need it, as I still stay home several hours a week.
3 votesExporting and importing Todo.txt format is already possible.

Task hierarchy templates
Very often I create tasks which have the same set of subtasks, so it would be very wonderful if TaskCoach has the possibility to create something like 'task hierarchy' templates. For example, every day I create the same set tasks with subtasks:
Task1 (new feature)
-- subtask 1 (developing)
-- subtask 2 (testing)
-- subtask 3 (release)It would save lots of time! Thanks!

track times on more than 1 task at a time.
i love using this program. i think it would be great if we could track multipal tasks at one time.
3 votesThis is already possible. Start tracking the first task as you normally do. Then select the second task, right click it and select New effort. An effort dialog opens; as long as you don’t fill in the end date/time you’re tracking effort for two tasks at the same time.

Assign tasks to projects, and filter on projects and categories
I have lots of different projects, which I would like to keep track of, and assigning tasks to different projects would really help.
Besides the projects, I still want to filter on Categories
3 votesThis is already possible. Just create a task and call it "Project ". Tasks within the project become subtasks of the project task.

Allow repeating tasks to be hidden
Allow repeating tasks to be hidden until a week ( or other specified time) before they are next due
3 votesThis is already possible. Set the start date a week before the due date (so that the task does not become active until one week before the due date) and hide inactive tasks.

Open main window from icon in the systray in Win with only one click, enstead of double-click
When TC rolled down to the systray menu in windows, now it opens only on double-click.
It is much easier when TC opens on just one click.

ability to track effort on multiple tasks
for example I have a task which describe me to download some data(and I want to know exact time this download running and keep it in my taskcouch). while I track a effort on this task I want to read some document which is another task and want task couch to track this effort too.
3 votesThis is already possible: start tracking for the first task normally. Then add an effort to the second task using “Add effort” and don’t give the second task a stop time. You’re now tracking effort for both tasks.

Add a way to see the total time spent on subtasks
When I click on a task with several subtasks, it would be most helpful to have the time of subtasks totaled for the parent task. For example, if I am drawing a house plan (parent), it would be cool to have the 20 hours spent on the floor plan (child) and 15 hours on the elevations (child) be totaled as 35 hours spent under the parent floor plan task. This would make creating invoices much, much easier.
Thank you for the great software!

allow to always open new tasks on description tab
I think Task Coach used to always open task detail windows on the Description tab. More recently this changed so that now detail windows open on the last used tab. I find this incredibly annoying because I invariably click the New Task button and start typing a summary, only to find (once the window appears) that I’m on the wrong tab and my typing has gone nowhere. At the very least it makes sense for new tasks to start on the Description tab; is there ever a case where a user would NOT want to enter at least a subject…
3 votesIn the latest v. 1.3.20, this has been fixed.
NEW tasks should always open at the description tab. Only existing tasks should go to the last used tab. If this isn’t working for you, then we still haven’t got the program working right and it is a bug.
If you haven’t updated, please do. Otherwise, post a bug at
https://sourceforge.net/p/taskcoach/bugs/If you want a behavior different from this intention I’ve described here, we can update your request or consider it.
Cheers,

Show part of the next month in the date picker
The new date picker is a significant improvement over the old widget, especially on Ubuntu, but could be made easier to use.
The most common use I have for changing the date for a task is procrastination--moving the date a couple of days into the future. At the end of the month this gets harder, a few days in the future is the next month.
It would be nice if Task Coach date picker took the approach of other electronic calendar selectors I've seen and showed a few days of the next month and allowed them to be selected. For…

Automatic unfold for specific condition
There is a usefull recap at the bottom of the window (in french it is : Récap: X en dépassement, Y en retard, Z inactive, etc.). However, if you want to see quickly every "en dépassement" tasks, you have to unfold every folder one by one to see where they are.
An automatic unfold on all "en dépassement" would help quickly see each tasks you have to do fast.
If not, a button which would automatically fold or unfold all folders would help3 votesThis is already possible. Here’s the details for English:
First, you can collapse or expand everything in the View > Tree Options (also keyboard shift-cntrl-E and shift-cntrl-C), but that’s not really what you want here.
Here’s what you want: You can hide and show any type of state by doing this:
1. Click the gear to customize your toolbar
2. Add all the different hide/show buttons for every state
3. these buttons let you hide and show any combination of states, and you can also use the “clear all filters” button to show everything. You can also shift-click on a state to show ONLY that state!
(note: I recommend putting these buttons on the right to be separated from the action buttons on the left)[my personal feeling is that these should be there by default, but the other developers wanted to keep things simpler and have only the inactive…

Gestione di più liste sulla barra
Gestione di più liste sulla barra nello stile con cui firefox apre più pagine nella stessa sessione
3 votesYou can already have multiple viewers. Just add New Viewers with the menus and you can place them in the same pane and they will be tabs.
These separate viewers can be filtered in different ways or have different columns etc.
If you want separate .tsk files open at once, vote for this request:

Add a column "Last updated time" in Tasks View
I have a lot of tasks and subtasks in my Tasks View, and it becomes hard to find those I want to update when I work on them. It would be very convenient for me if I could sort them by "Last update time". If you add this column and I can sort against this parameter, the tasks I was recently working on should be on top of the tree, allowing a quicker access.
3 votesThis is already present! It’s called “modification date”, just choose it by right-clicking the column headers or in View>Columns
cheers

show task details when hovering mouse over them
When a task has a long description, it would be nice to show the entire description in a tooltip. I use Task Coach on a relativel small sreen (netbook), and this happens quite a lot. Clicking and entering takes more time. I'm not sure if this request is only for the "subject" or also (parts of) the "description" (if available). The same requests applies to the calendar view, where tasks lasting only a short period of time (think a short meeting in the "month" view) are not legible.
3 votesThis is already the case, hovering already shows the the entire description.
