Please create an AppData file for TaskCoach
Please consider writing and installing an AppData file with the application description and some screenshots, else TaskCoach looks really bad in the GNOME and KDE Software Centers. We'd love to showcase more applications, but without the extra data file we can't. See http://people.freedesktop.org/~hughsient/appdata/ for details; thanks!

to link an email to a task via the attachment, rather than copying the text of the message.
If the email is linked, when you open the link, you can read the message as it was received.

effort per year / total effort per task
When one wants to see the total effort per task, he can only see effort per month. If the task continues for many months, the manual addition is necessary. The effort per year, or some total effort will be helpful.

In the preferences there should be an option to popup the reminder 'on top'.
I missed reminders because they were hidden by other windows. This is true for WIndows 7.

Add an option to move timing of multiple tasks at once
I have a group of about 10 tasks, which I need to move by certain days earlier or later. Now I have to edit every single "Planned start date" and "Due Date" manually. It would be good to have an option like "Move selected tasks by n days".

Why not giving more control, what should be inherited by sub tasks and what from the sub tasks influences the parent task?
Switching from ToDoList to Task Coach I miss the functionality to control, what parent properties should be inherited to sub tasks!
As well I miss the ability to configure what sub tasks properties (progress, due dates, priorities, etc.) should be reflected in parent tasks!1 vote -
Is there no way to run an aggregate report on how time was spent across various projects in a given day / week / month?
I want a daily / weekly / monthly summary report of how much time I spent across the projects I am working on. Seems like the capability should exist, but I can't find it - can anyone help?

Is it possible that, to minimize or close, the icon is active only in the Windows operating system between the icons on the right?
It is with the idea that the icon is not displayed on the lower task bar of Windows, which is very annoying and to have always-on application.

to speed up toggling categories
facilitate the way to toggle categories.
Viewing one task (left pane), hold down a key e.g. CTRL and check/uncheck (right pane) the categories. (This means that holding down the CTRL key and having selected a task, automatically the categories are revealed and can be modified)
If the task has subtasks then all these to inherit the same parent task's categories.
Extend this also to multiple tasks selection (again for example holding down the CTRL key. However now is not possible holding down the CTRL key and having selected multiple tasks, to automatically reveal their categories -at right pane-, because the…1 vote -
Effort in time unit (sec, min, hours, day, week) instead of Start/Date + New properties
Hi guys,
Congrats for your tool. looks promising...Here is my suggestion...
As effort is usually dependent of a task, would it be possible to track effort using time units (sec, min, hours, ect) and not calendar (start/stop date)?
This would also help to add new properties as:
Estimated Effort; Cumulated Work; Work Remaining (minus if we pass more work on it)...Thanks for your support.

Importing efforts from a csv file
I use Task Coach 1.3.32 in OS Windows :
=> it is possible to export a selection of efforts to a csv file
=> when you import such a csv file, it is always seen as a "tasks export file"
It would be interesting to be able to import efforts as it is possible to import tasks.
Anyway, thanks for this product which is very useful and well made.7 votes -
Repeated (daily) efforts
Some efforts are repeated daily. It would be nice if these could be created automatically and set a default start/end time, so I didn't have to do that manually every single day.
For example, I create an effort for START of day, an effort for LUNCH and an effort for END of day. Each with standard start and end times.9 votes -
Link to email in outlook
I would like to link to an email in my Outlook, so I can simply go back to the email for reference. I realize that I can attach the email to a task by simply dragging on to the task, but that loses any attachments and formatting. I would simply like to go back to the original email.

Allow me to minimize my task window and Task Coach windows independantly
Would be nice to put Task Coach on minimize while leaving a task window open so that I can work on something else at the same time.
